my advise to u is if u think its too high now than wait but do remember it could also get even higher. economy is too volatile now. anything can happen in 2 weeks.

Omfg......japanese yen exchange rates getting worse and worse! 16.45 now and I lol-ed at the news link that Melicious had posted a couple pages back, whatever happened to all that intervention crap? :s22: :s22:

Wah piang, I think I can totally drop the idea about getting the Sony Tablet or their latest NW-Z1000 series Walkman DAP directly from JP liao man, the EOY financial forecast doesn't look good for Japan. :frus:

Is the rate worst if I withdraw directly from Tokyo ATM like citibank? When I called citibank today they told me they can't give me the rates because it is converted directly from sgd to usd and from usd to yen..

Citibank does not charge any admin fee for any overseas ATM withdrawal but I heard the rate isn't that good, the standard for banks. You can't expect bank to offer rates similar to the money changer but it is a convenience.

of course rate will be worse than u do $$ exchange in Spore..
Different bank service charge will be diff! Rate will be diff too.. eg, OCBC beta than POSB during my withdrawal but higher service charge.
POSB - $5
OCBC - $20
I withdraw thru CITI ATM...

other major currencies also kana (HKD, USD and RMB especially). travellers during this period all affected. if travelling soon, really should just buy and 'cut loss' now if increase in rate is due to MAS depreciating SGD.
