Well, in the evening my speed already hit 300KB/s for downloads until midnight.

Anyway, tried the ubuntu iso, for 32 and 64 bits. One torrent works out about up to 1.6-1.8MB/s while both torrents work out to about 2.2MB/s. This is at 1.45am.

My download now is telling me I have 8.5GB downloaded, 64.5GB uploaded, so much different compared to using ADSL in the past LOLX

i am under singtel 50mpbs fiber optic plan... i had the same problem as you too....

my max dl speed while 24/7 utorrent is 500kb/sec. Although it does not affect my internet surfing speed, msn and etc, the download rate way too damm slow...

i have tested my dl speed thru speed test and my dl speed thru USA server is 5mbps and my upload speed is 6mbps, WTF!!!!!!!!!!

care to explain why is speedtest not accurate?

All speedtest can tell you is your speed to that speedtest server at that given point in time. Even different speedtest servers in the same country can already give very different results.

For all purposes, you won't be surfing or downloading off a speedtest server right?

The internet is not a very predictable medium. There are so many nodes in between you and your intended destination that can affect your actual experience.

Speedtest can give you a rough gauge of speed to a location, but the results should never be taken as the absolute gospel truth

Sure. I am just commenting that the upload speed is more than my expectation while the download speed falls within expectation.

Anyway, I believe 50mbps is more worth the money.

if you don't like mio tv, you can request them not to even bring the set top box.

last time over their stupid set top box, I had to travel all the way to the Paya Lebar post office to return it to them.

mio tv is so f-up, even my mother, a senior citizen, say it's lousy. Free also she don't want. And she is watching dramas off funshion siah :s13:

tbh the upload speed was the main key reason for me to switch to fibre, since i do quite alot of uploading with my photos and stuff

One thing that I find it weird, they say that the MAX speed over wireless N connection is around 75mbps. This is bull****? I can hit over 100mbps in my school connection.

how or where did u manage to come across this limited deal ?
was it online, u called in or roadshow ?

it's hard as it is (maybe never try hard enuff) to get them to waive off the $80+ installation fees, let alone trying to shave $10 off their listed pricing :s13:

TIA :)

i upgraded to explore home 200 and didn't get charged for the installation fees too.
