nice, I suppose you are on the 100Mbps plan?

If I use 110E will there be more signal loss than 115E ? cos the former is theoratically rated up to 200mbps

sorry for the noob qn =P

if you read up what MarineX have performed in 1 of his threads...

he clearly states that 200Mbps will never hit 200Mbps...

110E is a crap device. At tops it can only provides you a good 60-70Mb/s and this is it.

yes, im on 100Mbps plan.

no offense, but if you decided to go ahead and believe on your wallet than the survey conducted by him, don't complain. :)

cheers and good luck on your purchase.

Perhaps you might have left out the fact that I'm only on the 50mbps plan, hence I was wondering if it will make a big difference. Thanks for your advice nonetheless !

Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

is ridiculous to make "noise" just by using a mere incapable unit to test your speed.

rooms no reception? can be the device issue or router settings not configured correctly.

ask yourself this:

Are you on WPA2 + AES?

Are you on 802.11n?

Transmit Power on 100%?

Channel <= 11?

if you have no idea what i am talking about, try learning a thing or 2 from the guide before jumping conclusions~

Is it just me on the iPhone 4, as far as wifi throughout is concerned, that channels 5 to 8 yield the best performance where downlink > uplink.

If I may elaborate, the speedtest defaulted with News Media Express will yield uplink rather consistently at 20 Mbps. Channels 5 to 8 will typically achieve 25 Mbps downlink, hence downlink > uplink. Other channels above/below 5 to 8 will yield equal downlink performance or lower and also throughput performance penalty is much more sensitive to distance once out of the channels 5 to 8.

Test is performed on 20m bandwidth. I've noticed poorer performance on both 40m bandwidths. Router is the Dlink N5402SP. WPA2 AES. B/G/N.

1. you.
2. it shouldn't be as 40 bandwidth provides a better overall in my case.

and theoretically, 40m should provide a better overall. your case with iPhone is probably the limitations of an overpriced handset and dumb contract t&C

is broadband btw.

if you place your router in 1 corner of the flat, don't expect too much out of it... since i have no idea on your home infrastructure is not a good idea telling me it is "just" a 5room flat.

best to provide us with the layout of your home coupled it with your router placement and etc settings
