well, if we think about how the car engine works, i believe the double piston would fill the tank up faster. other than that, i think not much difference.

I did some research on compressors and I decided to get from keithab due to budget reasons.

whats the difference between single and double piston, both with air tank?

is it single piston take longer to fill up the air tank? or is there some more difference to it?

I have the single piston w/tank
Find that it cannot keep up with my pace, end up the piston needs to kick in all the time.

If u have extra cash go for double, nt sure if it'll be much better though..

well, the piston only kicks in when the tank hits below the set level ma, if you do not want the piston to kick in, you probably need a bigger tank that pumps to a higher psi and activates and a lower psi again. correct me if i am wrong. if with a bigger tank, a single piston will just take abit longer to pump it up again. however, with heavy usage, it is true that the single piston will keep pumping.

I mainly do 1/144 scale... not sure if I will use less air..

@osirisx: when the piston kick in, do you still get stable air flow?

Single piston is ok actually but I would recommend dual piston.. For some ppl who do feel that single piston cannot keep up with their pace.. It's because they set high psi n spray.. Wet coat n zhua.. Dual piston has more stable airflow imho.. Don't be sensitive.. I m not saying osirisx or anyone.. Pls don't misunderstand me.. In fact I feel the same way at times.. Cos I m still not good at controlling my airbrush..
I m using sparmax 610 air tank compressor btw.. Even a 5 year old can do better than me..

Errr.. Bro.. Ur pace has nth to do with the piston actually.. The piston is to generate compressed air into the tank.. It's ur airtank capacity which determines when the piston kicks in.. When the air level is below a certain level.. The piston will kick in to fill the airtank again..

double piston has double the piston pumps, half the filling time, but also double the power consumption......

personally i think is overkill cause there should be fast enough to fill the tank than a normal airbrush output of air, unless you tell me you spraying at 40+ psi with a industrial spray gun then i nothing to say liao

now keith got no stock for single piston.. not sure if I should wait till end feb/early march or just hoot double piston...

er.. stablity of airflow should't be a problem.. as for frosting, as long as u have a moisture trap attached shouldnt be a problem..

Watched AGE 17, feel it will be kinda like SEED + Aquarion Evol, best friends killing each other(SEED) + Fighting for same girl(Aquarion Evol)..

yes still stable...but find that the air will have a slightly lesser pressure than when the tank is full

seen some videos on youtube where the guy's compressor can start and stop while spraying..
for mine only when I put down my ab then only will the tank fill up

but I only set like ard 15 psi...quite normal leh
