Based on the limited information, other Perks aside, it seems it is better to use Horizon card to earn 5x tr'eats Points (redeemable for 2 air miles) with every S$1 charged for air ticket / travel package, purchases at Perfumes & Cosmetics outlets at Singapore Changi Airport, and overseas transactions.

For other spendings, based on 3x *** it is on par with Citi's Premiermiles card ($1 spent = 1.2 miles). :s22:

BTW, when I spoke to the maybank person, she said when you spend overseas, the admin charge on the horizon plat is 1.5% but the admin charge on the infinite is 1.75%.

The only other difference with the horizon plat she pointed out was the free airport transfer (which I get with the HSBC elite travellers' card anyway).

and she kept repeating that it's by invite only in a tone that implies - "and you are not invited"...

Yes it is by invite only but if you meet the requirements and is Maybank customer then you can get the RM to process your application if you are not in the invite list.

I called the hotline before, they said they have a list that they already sent the invites. If you have not receive then you are not in the list.

If you are qualify and is a Maybank customer then call your RM.

If you have at least $200k (loans/fd/investments/insurance) with Maybank you can also call them for the application form.

PP is now nothing special Its offered to HSBC's customers as well

Citibank Premiermiles also offer that, albeit it's a much more restricted version (only 2 visits per year).

SCB Priority Visa Infinite also gives PP. But you need to have Priority Banking to qualify for this card.

Bottomline, it's a common perk for the higher end cards.

Indeed, but more importantly for HSBC, is the fact that the PP is offered to all our supp cards as well.

From the conversation with the rm, he told me there are 2 choices. 1 is to neet the 200k pa, if not just place a 200k fd secured credit card. Since affluent is maintaining 500k, you can split the 300 in savings and 200 in fd for the visa infinite secured. But if you are not under affluent banking, you can just open a fd 200k for the card itself.

If you are using 200k to secure VI, they will cancel ALL your existing Maybank credit cards and only give you VI.

From what he says, the rest of my maybank card will be secured too. That means vi 200k limit. Of course the horizon and family&friends limit will all change to 200k but all shared.

Wonder if you want to post a picture of the card and let us know the terms and conditions?

With interest at this kinda pittance rate, I wonder who would actually wanna place 200k in the fixed deposit just to get the card. :s13:

Moreover, securing a card for a grand sum of 200k versus 10k (for normal cards) just does not sound right, no matter how good the card is.

If VI (secured card) is applied from min. $200k FD/investments then they will cancel all existing credit cards.
