I am now considering onda vx610w and window n12 deluxe. Both are around the same price, but am buying screen protector from them. The n12 does not support usb charging, runs on rk2918. the onda vx610w has a10 which I assume is better? and the onda vx610w has usb charging. So would the vx610w be the better choice to buy?? Thank You!

I've always been curious how does a MIC tablet with decent specifications (eg. IPS, A10 core, long battery life) can be sold for about $200? How much margins are from manufacturing and from the dealer? Its bit insane really, especially when you compare the same hardware with a non-chinese brand tablet.

Are we being ripped off by higher margins from the "non-chinese brand" alone, or are we short changed by a somewhat less reliable "chinese brand" product?

As a consumer, i think it really depends on which side you stand on, and live on.

IMO..."ripped off" see how much the Fruit company paid the operators making the product...and how much they sell us.

Non China brand or BIG Brand, they offer warranty, support etc.

China brand tends to be short lived...3months and the product is phased out.

I support both as long as it meets my needs...(which had many & changes with season) :p

Thank you! Just a question regarding sgshop. I sent a query to them with the same question but they did not reply. If I want to transfer $100 to my sgshop account via paypal, because they charge a 3.4% processing fee + $0.50, I must then transfer $105 so that I have enough money to pay for the $100 product.

Is the 3.4% service charge deducted from the amount you transfer? Thank you!!

Normally they reply me 1 day later or i call them. I normally don't transfer fund. I do payment then select paypal to pay. At paypal the total price include the extra fees.

I think even people in Beijing will buy off Taobao.. so convenient!
Else you can always see the whole list of shops location from their sites, choose the one nearest to you.

that's i always keep think, now is 2012, but still people sale electronic item:
- sale price $500, tell me, only net profit $10
- sale price $1000, tell me, only net profit $50
- sale price $5000, tell me, only net profit $100

i wonder, until when, they think only they are smart and other people is not smart?
just look, if true sell electronic item $500, nett proft $10:
- how to pay the employee salary
- how to pay the rent cost
- how to the boss can drive bmw or merc latest model?

China tablet actually better earning than branded ones. Most branded tablet profit is 10-20% (exclude rental and salary), but China tablet can be 30-50% or more.

Example for Aurora, 799 RMB I think the cost is 699-749 RMB. Shipping is by sea (<10 days) normally, the big box can be folded down which shipping cost is much lesser. Which should be around 50RMB or less.

They are selling around S$230 which is around 1150 RMB:s8: Of cost there's rental lah, but booth cost is much lesser and sometime can cut carrot of those clueless. :s13:

A repost of my thoughts on Uppo PO-8003:)

From what I gathered 8003 panel is not as bright as U9GT2 "LG" panel and it's by Chimei. My guess it's a 200 lumens panel which is the same brightness as T.A10/Momo11. From the photo I don't see a warm cast.

Wifi is similar to that of Aurora, which has the same strenght as Galaxy Note. Meaning it's decent to good:) 6800mah (some reported actual is 5800mah) battery should give it a 4+hr running time with wifi on. Should be able to make it to 5 or more hours with tweaks.

What I like is that it has 2 speakers, which most of the 999 RMB tablet doesn't. Disassembly shots shows it's pretty clean IMHO. The design looks like a Bmorn V99 which is good. Build looks decent too. Case wise Ipad1 should fit.

My only worry with it is the firmware support. The lack of International or even local commnuity might be a problem. But if given a choice of V99, D90, 8003, I would gamble on 8003. lol

Edit: Uppo 8003 IPS screen
http://youtu.be/Ie3kDsdzEW4

Edit: I just look at the view angles shots again. Looks like the IPS aren't as good as LG ones. Theres some color changed, although it's much better than those normal screens. Overall color is actually very pleasing :) I'm tempted ;)

8-9 none really worth getting.. mainly because non-ips screens. The price also not appealing. 7" IPS 799 RMB, 9.7" IPS 999 RMB. But a non-IPS 8/9" want 899-1099 RMB:s8:

reason why I said IPS screen as 8-9" normally is more towards surfing and reading. IPS will help quite a bit at these tablet sizes:)

thanks seasoncrystal for replying,
it seems u r the resident China tab expert here, lol.

my main use will be movie/video and surfing.
reading (pdf/ebook) and gaming not that much.
so are u suggesting that better just buy the 7 inch ones ?
the Novo Aurora or Elf might be good then ?
i read ur posts in another thread where u mention Allwinner chips would be better ?
does chip number with RK means Rockchip ?
(noob here, lol)
i also not very comfortable buying online, though i think SLS maybe just as risky.
