I'm a s2 user and intending to switch to XS soon. How's the batt life compared with s2? I don't know if it's Go launcher that drains more battery. but my s2 dies on me a lot outside.

Here's an accurate benchmark of XS vs S2 according to hardwarezone review

Battery Mileage

Using that same 480 x 800-pixel video, we next ran our standard battery test. The test parameters include having the video looped under the following conditions:

Brightness and volume at 100%

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity turned on

Constant data streaming through email and Twitter

This is very strange. Here, the GS2 lasts about 8 hours playing video, roughly the same as GSM arena's results, but in the GSM arena's benchmark, the Xperia S lasted about 385 mins, not 238 mins.

Anyway, GSM arena has a more comprehensive battery breakdown, as well as comparisons to other smart phones. I'll try to hotlink it:

gsmarena_001.gif

gsmarena_002.gif

gsmarena_003.gif
gsmarena_003.gif

It seems that the XS has a battery life most comparable to the Galaxy Nexus.

Peiseh for betterbatterystats.. how to see which thing is eating up the battery?? :O
open up the app, there will be two drop down menus. select "since unplugged" and then the other one got 4 options, "partial wake lock, kernel wake lock etc" scroll thru em, see which process has been running the longest.

i suspect its the "alarm manager"

Hardware benchmarks - More or less accurate, unless you change clockspeed.

Battery benchmarks - Not so accurate, varies among user habits, apps & contents.

Hmm did you guys realize something?

On our redemption coupons it says, "Bring THIS coupon to redeem your FREE pair of Xperia SmartTags."

and since we have 2 coupons, does that mean we get 2 pairs of tags?

XD

How do we check what are the apps that are running in the background and how do we disable some apps from auto running at start up? How exactly should we close an app? I noticed when I close an app, it is still running in the background.
