[Official] Nanoblock Thread

Nanoblocks is slowly growing! Check the previous pages, there are links to upcoming stuff, if they release all at one shot, it will be the biggest "small-scale kit" release I've seen!

Haha, I'm just getting started with the generic bricks. Hopefully I can design my own stuff, just wondering where to start though...

I just hope that with the increase of collector, the "local distributor" can do a better and faster job by bring in the new stuff faster.

haha. yep! just take it slow. hmm if you aren't a veteran building blocks person and just started out (I started out with no prior serious experience too) might want to try doing a few kits first to get used to the technique used to building certain parts. But honestly, the techniques used by the standard kits are quite simplistic.

haha...yes yes. I wish they will be faster. unfortunately. being an official licensed company by Kawada, they have loads of things to apply for etc etc.

I still have my beef against them. but. that's an old story. HAHA.

Yeah, recently I am trying to doing some of Chris's creation. When I trying to figure out the formation or the blocks, I am so...... impress....!!

The standard black packs you mean? Well it depends also on the level you choose. I once did an penguin and took me quite a while as the building patterns are different.

I'm also revamping my fb blog to document and share my design, so far it looks more like a mix of toy reviews and other crazy stuff.

standard kits = standard packs = the designs produced by Kawada
din call them packs because...some of them aren't in 'packets' haha...

I find the difficulty level quite deceiving.
For e.g. Schloss Deluxe has a 7 brick rating, but honestly it isn't that tough. Just extremely tedious. Tokyo Sky Tree Deluxe has a 6 brick rating, when it feels like an 8. Tokyo Sky Tree (Sight to See) has a 5 brick rating, when it feels like a 6.

Those who have done/worked on the Tokyo Sky Tree will totally know what I mean. it's really *flip table* ( / ' _ ')/ |__| kind of feeling.

Chris doesn't work for Kawada, he's a Malaysian. He won 2 third prizes in the recent competition last year (even with his god-like skills). I submitted some designs too...but...all #epicfail haha...

yes, do SIC your reviews soon. I used to SIC mine...since I only frequent this thread...but removed it.

ball joints are avail in the basic set ;D

Basic Set + the 3 other colour sets are a must-get if you wanna kick start making your own original designs. only problem is, you gotta tear em down if you hope to build more stuff. (that's what Chris does anyway)

Too bad these cost a bomb as they aren't readily available yet, I hope they release clear version set, although quite unlikely.

It is also good to keep a log with your blueprints and documentation in case of revisions.

Saw some stuff

Saw some stuff that a friend took photos of in 'Logon' at some place in Citysuper in HK.

Apparently someone came up with the brilliant idea to combine standard kits to make designs that are not featured. So for e.g. using 2 of the grand piano kits to make 1 upright piano.

I've got pictures, but no time to post em up now.

Are these customs designed by a HK company? Would be interesting if any shop carries these.

Was that a super mega size fa cai mao? Must have taken weeks to complete, and will make a great display too.

Prob custom designed by the very intuitive and creative shop retailers.

Yep, the mega size fa cai mao wasn't on sale though. My friend (the one who took the pics) was looking for it too.
