I feel the pain of Trivellis owners. :( But why is this surprising for Trivellis owners i wonder. Perhaps it came too sudden... but Sooner or later only right. Most of Clementi should be scheduled for en bloc, the flats are all so old! Even the temp. bus interchange will highly likely also become a BTO site in future. Government can't possibly put a hold on all BTO sales in Clementi just because of Trivellis. Hopefully these owners will feel that the furnishings and add ons are worth the difference in the price. Value is a matter of perspective...Don't add salt to their wound liao :o

You don't know why? This is all about SALES tactic. Actually no diff from say, selling apples.

- I sell apple today for $5, those who can afford will buy, those who think expensive will wait.
- Tomorrow I sell $4, those who thought $5 is a bit expensive will buy. Those who still can't afford will wait.
- Next day I sell $3, many more think finally affordable, will buy.

Put it this way, if HDB rollout the clementi BTO first, then follow by Trivellis. Who will buy? How do they sell them?

And, the fact that clementi BTO is absolutely expensive, but people think worth it, cos it's relatively cheaper than Trivellis. People will buy.
Again, same as selling apple.


And of cos, for the above (sales tactic theory) to be true, one can safely assume that the objective of HDB is to maximise profit.
Who Fug care about affordable housing for the people.
Sad but true. :(

Questions:

I wanted to apply for the next BTO but unexpectedly got SOBF this time round.
Looking to hoot a specific unit a matured estate but there's only 3 unit left.

Should I bang my chances on the SOBF unit?

If you urgently need a flat then don't try SBF because very low chance to even get a queue number.

The flats being offered are those in orange or pink?

Really need to sit down and discuss with my other half tonight..

anyone noticed that the hdb website is extremely hard to use. for viewing of the balance flats, there's no option in which you can filter to see all 5 room flats or all 4 room flats. seems like they want you to look through the entire list of flats. Also there's no option to view the floor plan/photos of the flats , unlike the previous exercises.

The prices of clementi is really high... need to redo my sums... 680k for a 5rm and i have to top up 45k in resale levy.... i rather top up the 200k and get a EC... good luck for those who buy...

BTW any one have a idea of where the exact location of the SOBF? I can't seem to get the website to load.. too much traffic i guess..

Do you guys know that for a flat of around $700k if you were to take a 30yr loan, the total amount paid is roughly $1 million at the end of the loan? :s22:

Why is HDB selling their BTOs at this kind of prices? :mad:

i only bought for 227k back in 2009. jus collected my keys on jan this yr..

If want buy 500k HDB, I will get private condo or EC instead;)
Even March normal place like Bukit batok also sell 300k over though s'porean so rich:D

They want make DBSS developer happy what if not who want to bid lands over 300 millions ;)

Clementi is hot, I guess it will be 6 times over-subscribed.

He reckoned more second-timers might jump onto the bandwagon to apply, given the attractive locations. “New flats in areas like Bedok, Clementi and Geylang don’t come by very often, and some second-timers might be willing to fork out the resale levy in order to get a new place,” said the director of Chris International.

Its a pain in the butt to navigate thur HDB march BTO / SOBF website -.-!
