Ur link is correct, although not directly linked. So here's the direct link, click here: Courts Webstore -- LG VRS5902LVM (RED) ROBOTIC VACUUM CLEANER

Anyway, this is previous generation LG roboking, and available at Courts from 4 Apr 2012.
- Previous gen is slightly louder at 60 db vs latest gen 48 db
- Object anti-collision ultra sound sensors are less sensitive, so will knock into 1cm wide furniture legs
- I'm not sure about what other benefits of current gen vs previous gen, but this previous gen being sold by Courts will have genuine LG warranty

Compared to the 5th generation Roboking,

The 6th gen is 30% faster due to an improved cleaning algorithm. Its very fast when crossing diagonally.

The 6th gen can resume cleaning without losing its mapping even if the bot is moved to a different position. This feature facilitates the changing of the mop so even if u return the bot to a different position from where it was stopped, it is still able to resume cleaning from its last stopped location. If i recalled correctly, it is limited to a radius of 2 to 3m from its last stopped position.

Self diagnostic feature in some 6th gen models.

The 6th gen has more IR sensors compared to the 5th gen which has only 2.

The 6th gen touch panel has an additional button for selecting cleaning mode

LG Singapore should market the 6th generation Roboking instead of the 5th generation. The English version of the 6th generation Roboking VR6170 has already been selling in some markets.

I guess they must be clearing stock lor... still so many left over 5th Gen roboking.....

Hopefully they clear the 5th Gen stock fast and bring in the 617X models. Better still bring in the 6180 3rd eye model. The 6180 model can get for around $849 here. So hope the price of the 5th Gen is competitive.

Is this the price to get from Best Denki?

I am like you in the past. I actually read up all the 600 over posting here=:p

Eventually narrow down to brand like irobot and LG and so call commonly available here with some sellers here and got warranty. I initially has the intention to get an alternative robot which could be cheaper but after comparison the price different can range from $50-$400 only (depend on the model).

I may want to get the LG but finally settle down with irobot 500 series due to budget contraint. I may miss the mopping function from the LG roboking, but maybe will get a extra Mint Plus robot in future for the mopping function to compilment each others.

Luckily the irobot able to climb over step which measure 1.5- 2cm, so result my kitchen able to get it sweep/vacuum as well. I do not know if the LG roboking can do it as i read its spec can only up to 1cm.

I wrote about the add-on mopping attachment for Roomba in 3rd last para here: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/64967621-post9056.html

This Roomba Add-on is also just an attachment with micro fibre cloth, so no diff from the "mopping" feature of LG roboking, iClebo & Mint (except Mint Plus with water reservoir). I feel bad using the word "mopping" cos it's just WIPING!!!

For ridiculously clean floor, there is no equal to iRobot Scooba, even the tiny Scooba 230 at least uses clean water to wash floor. I pour in 500 ml, I pour out ~350 ml of dirty water (I only used tap water, I didn't even bother with detergent). But that was only for my room ~120 sq ft, the tiny guy can't handle large areas. And I use my computerised charger to fast charge it in 1 hr instead of the miserable 8 hrs using the iRobot charger *faint!*

Floor washing (ie. Scooba) > Floor mopping (ie. Mop & pail) > Floor wiping (moist cloth)

Yup, Do agree. Using Scooba for mopping is still the best floor washing solution. There may be some robotic vacuums better or comparable to the Roomba. But the Scooba is the only one that actually washes or scrubs the floor.

I agree scooba is the best 'wet' robot but it can do w more improvement esp after so many years of R&D! Hahaha. I see u r loving yr 230. Pls do the reverse engineering soon, waiting for your tear down of it. :)

Actually there is. LG's brush still works with the cloth but if you use the robotaddons' attachment, you loose the brushes' function.

Now there is a standard chartered credit card up to 10% rebate for online purchases promotion*. Maybe those who has the card can use it to purchase robot cleaner online. :s22:
