ONT -> DLink (RG) -> Wired Cat5e -> PC

Really really very pissed with SH!!!!

Test your speed here, if still 20~30 Mbps, log a complaint to 1633.

Can also post a screenshot of your test on their facebook page!

2.5 If you wish to reasonably dispute any amount in your bill, you can withhold payment for such disputed amounts if you inform us in writing prior to the payment date shown on your bill. Otherwise, you are liable to pay us all Charges. We will investigate any such dispute and provide a written response to you within 30 days from the day you notify us of such a dispute. If the dispute is resolved in our favour, you must pay us the disputed amount and all costs incurred in recovering the amount. We may charge you interest on the outstanding amount at 1.5% per month from the date the outstanding amount was due and payable and calculated on a daily basis or at such other rates as we may prescribe from time to time. Alternatively, we may charge you the standard late payment fee as we may prescribe from time to time.

I found this clause in their contract T&C. Will be informing SH soon that i'll be invoking this clause before lodging a claim with SCT regarding my matter.

before you start using apple devices, have you tried using a computer to do testing instead?

if you only have apple as your device, possible to grab the following for us then
ip address
subnetmask
gateway
dns1
dns2

next, do you have more than 255 devices at home and need 255x2 to do the work? if no, I see no reason to keep both dhcp on. if you really wants to have both on, follow MarineX's steps on post #1 will be better.

and it will help to screencapture your current ROUTERS config page.
thanks.

Hi CanNik bro, I've tried it with a laptop but it is also the same as with the apple products. The device shows that it is connected but it cannot serve the internet. The latp is also unable to see the storage devices that is connected to the RG.

I've included the Linksys router config and the Huawei RG config of mine as per below

wrt610N_setup.jpg

hg256s_setup.jpg

Please advise what I could have perform wrongly.

My home setup is as follows again
ONT -> RG (WAN) -> RG (LAN) -> Homeplug (HL280)
Homeplug (HL280) -> Linksys (LAN) -> Wireless connection & Desktop (LAN)

My desktop is able to surf the net and access the network storage connected to the RG as per normal.

so am I right to say that your desktop on your linksys with wired connectivity is able to surf the net and your network storage? (your 2nd point shows it)

but wireless on the linksys is not able to?

care to show the config page of Linksys on the wireless portion and on the status page?

Yes, i changed DNS to Google Public DNS, OpenDNS, and Starhub auto DNS but it still persists.

This is on LAN side though, the three addresses stated on the WAN side cannot be changed at all as SH technician confirmed it was on their end.

has that issue been resolved? ytd nite i saw that problem 4times. but very fast go away.. 3-7sec tops?

Yes it happen very briefly. Only issue is that its occuring too often.

No, not resolved. As per previous post, i can withhold payment after lodging a dispute. Probably go to SCT if they refuse to end the contract

perform your test on starhub site and on a different pc to determine cause. if still same, contact starhub.

Well, in my previous post, i did mentioned that doing a speedtest to starhub server is a waste of time. 'Coz is a direct connection of 100Mbps from the ONT to their server, they can even change to 500mbps or even 1Gbps they want, that does not determind the true speed to other servers in Singapore.

Problem still lies at Starhub's backend that allows the traffic to pass-thru from their fibre optic server.

My point is simple, i'm doing speedtest on both speedtest.net and speedtest.com.sg, and doing on local servers like: NewMedia. If just a simple speedtest even within Singapore Server, and SH still cannot achieve what we pay for, then what should i pay for 100Mbps speed to their server? All i want is speed provide to me from their internet backend, not from their switch port!

The point is : starhub only "recognize" speedtest results from their own test servers, full-stop !

Anyway, as long as you are happy ....:s8: good luck!
