from my own experience, if the speed is slow, its slow. doesn't matter whether it is on Starhub speedtest or speedtest.net or even through my ftp server. all of which will result in a similar slow speed. full stop.

slow on speedtest but not on Starhub.
your connection + speed is OK. even not from me, Starhub will gauge that as well.

if you are so stuck up, no one can help you. you wan accurate speed test and assumed that speed test will provide you with that, you gotta wake up.

Is not about being stuck up on this issue, or giving me the accurate speed.

The speed did not even reached beyond 60+Mbps at all. I did not expect to have 100Mbps on either both speedtest.net, at least a 90+Mbps will do.

Ifyou buy a car BMW, but in fact they give you a Honda...so, you just put a full stop and keep quite?

Simple questions: Why other ppl can achieve what they paid for?

No offence, I do not know others ppl, or there might got ppl like you just keep quite even thought their speed is under achieve...as long as they can surf...happy liao. Pay 100Mbps got 50Mbps, and keep quite!

hmm.. i monitor my again.. more or less my wireless issue is "settle"now is intermitted getting page cannot displayed.. need to dbl check if facing similar issue to you.. pardon me, SCT = Small Claims Tribunals?

Yup. I checked and it does have the authority to oversee disputes concerning contracts. It cost $10 to file a claim anyway.

Of course, im not going to lodge so quickly. Being reasonable, I gave a deadline until 18th Apr for them to fix the issue before lodging a claim at SCT.

Latest update is that Starhub is coming down yet again on Monday. They want to do a "joint inspection" or whatever that means.

i think you simply don't get it. You can continue to live in your own world and continue complaining.

so am I right to say that your desktop on your linksys with wired connectivity is able to surf the net and your network storage? (your 2nd point shows it)

but wireless on the linksys is not able to?

care to show the config page of Linksys on the wireless portion and on the status page?

Hi CanNik bro,

The config and status page

Hope it helps to determine my issue.

Added info: when I connect my laptop to the network, it states unidentified network and the IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity shows local, the signal strength is full bar tho.

I do actually have some questions. With my setup, is there a difference whether I choose the HG256S or my router to perform the DHCP duty? Let's say I choose my router to perform the DHCP duty, would computer connected to the network (LAN or Wifi) still be able to access the devices connected to the HG256S?

Thanks.

Change your wireless security from TKIP to AES instead.

is there a reason why you are only using B/g instead of b/g/n or g/n or n and 20MHz instead of 40Mhz?

it doesn't matter (in your case) which devices is the DHCP server. All devices will be able to communicate to each other.

you can always do a ping (if you did not block ping in your router) to determine connectivity from PC to Network equipments.

before i forget, remove your previously connected ssid from your laptop and reconnect again make sure it re-prompt you for the password input.

worst comes to worst, remove all wireless security (keeping your wireless as a open network for testing purposes) and determine if it can be connected to the internet.

Bro CanNik, problem solved.. Not sure what is the issue though..

Used back my 1st setup, which is the hg256s doing the dhcp and the router just broadcasting the network..

Tried for one whole morning and out of frustration, I re-boot the hg256s and connect up my old router to see if it has the same issue.. It too had the same problem as the new router at first but managed to resolve itself somehow.. After which I decide to give the new router one more shot and it started to work..

I kind of suspect it is the default gateway issue but i am not too certain..

What do you think could have caused the issue?

Anyway, thanks for your guidance during the pass few days..

Sorry If I am Goondu but I really need to consult the gurus in this forum.

I have the ONT Lan port 1 connected to the Huawei HG256s WAN port.

Then I have my Engenius ESR9850 connected to LAN Port 1 of the HuaWei HG256s.

There is a LAN Port 3 connected to a TPLink Switch TL-SG1016 16 Port Switch on which structured cabling is attached to it.

There is another Engenius ESR9850 Router acting as an AP connected to one of the Switch Ports

Question is if I disable the DHCP on the Huawei HG256s will my Switch and its connected items fail to work?

Thanks in advance.

Evening time slot. Yours also on Monday?

Well I dont really care about their excuses. My deadline stands nevertheless :s22:

You should consider filing a claim at SCT too.
The Subordinate Courts of Singapore - Lodging a Claim

dude. i had issues with starhub before. terminated my contract early and told them to shove the early termination charge up their butt. they tried to bill me $400+ in ETCs.

don't have to go SCT, just go to IDA, email IDA, they will force starhub to resolve it within 48 hours. and it's free.

Got any particular contacts in IDA? I emailed the basic email contact for IDA(info@ida.gov i think) and all i got in return was a CSO asking me for my SH customer number. After i gave them, no reply so far. Been a week
