No Sound From Yamaha YHT-S401

Hi hi, I've just gotten a Yamaha YHT-S401 for connecting to my Sony Vaio Z VGN-Z47GG laptop.

I tried connecting using a HDMI cable from the laptop HDMI output to YHT-S401 HDMI 1, 2 & 3 input respectively. No sound at all.

I then bought a 3.5mm TOSlink cable & tried connecting from the laptop 3.5mm headphone output to YHT-S401 digital optical input. No sound at all too.

I'm now connected using an analog audio cable from the 3.5mm headphone output to YHT-S401 analog input, and the audio is fine.

Please advice what is wrong as I would like to enjoy more optimum audio through digital connection rather than analog.

Hi Yahama,
My fren had just pass me a new YHT - S401 from Malaysia. I would like to know if there any international warranty.
Can I bring the set to Yamaha Singapore to service if problem incur. Will the service be free if found manufacture faults ?

nope it doesnt work...still no video and sound coming out from the soundbar...

Hi bro,

Sorry had been too busy past weeks.

I recommend (Sorry i didnt check on Samsung Series 5 Specs) you to use the Optical connection if the HDMI is not working.

Give it a try bro.

Cheers!

Hi bro,

You can opt to use other subwoofer but so long as the subwoofer is a "Passive" type just like our YSP-2200 Subwoofer.

Be sure you are using the right type bro.

Cheers!

Hi bro,

Sorry for the late response.

Had you tried 3D playback over YSP-4100? If it cannot work, send down to our Service Centre to have the Upgrade done Free.

Let me know if you need the address ya?

Cheers!

Hi bro,

Sorry for the late response too.

Check your soundcard settings. Likely to be the Soundcard setting you need to change it.

Cheers!

Hi bro,

Yamaha products does not offer International Warranty and all countries only provide local warranty.

My apologies.

Hi bro,

Great to hear that.

YIT-W10 [Wireless iPod Dock] is retailing at $239.
You can purchase directly from us at Marina Square, Yamaha Music Avenue, #03-321.

But let me know if you wish to pick up there so i can get them to prepare the stock for you and you do not need to go 2 times to get a Wireless Dock ya?

Cheers!

Sure. So do i need prepare a YIT-W10 for you? If not, later you come without ready for your cash & carry.

Yes. You need a YIT-W10 to do Wireless iPod playback and control.
Unless you are talking about Wireless Subwoofer Kit then will be a different case.

Cheers!

Question 1

I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha receiver RX version. Please advise me which RX model best fit my speakers.

My speakers: Pioneer S-81

Speaker System: 7.1 channels
Imepdance: 6 ohms
Maximum Power: 130w each speakers

Question 2

I see Yamaha matching NS-PA210 speakers with RX-V671 in BEST Denki.

RX-V671 has Dynamic Power per channel of 170W for 6 ohms, while NS-PA210 has maximum input power of only 120W for 6 ohms. Won't the amp burns off the speakers?

Thank you very much

Hi,
Got this problem, hope you could help me out.

My connection (all connection by HDMI);
Starhub HD box > RX-V671 > Panasonic TV, TH-P55ST30.

When I turn-on, audio would not play from RX-V671, instead the audio would be play from the TV.

After I turn-on and off RX-V671, then audio would play from RX-V671.
Any setting/s I miss out?

Thanks for the assistance in advance.
