some apps not present in gplay?

Hi Folks, after playing around with my new pad and d/l many apps etc, I am starting to experience general lag. This maybe understandable consequence of adding so many apps/ebooks/etc.

Another thing I found is that the battery indicator is eccentric - it displayed 47%, then 1 hr later cannot even boot. I plug in charger, and turn on - it shows 37%. But i read in the earlier threads that this can be resolved through "reset" procedures so that the os recognises the zero state. However, I am not complaining cause I did give me at least 6 hrs of movie watching before it ran down to 47%.

One last find - some apps are actually not available on the gplay. I confirmed it by logging in from PC gplay - eg. Rockplayer. Is it possible that I have limited access to gplay because it is a chinapad? Any solution to this?

Lag after u packed the tablet with stuffs is common.

Battery normally we'll try drain it to low battery during the 1st couple times of use then do a full recharge. It could be a firmware bug too.

I believe mintpie did not mod the build.prop as some apps do not recognised P90 or A10 processor. So you need to mod the build.prop to fool playstore/market to think it's another device like SGS2. Look at slatedroid for more info.

Back to the apps that wont install: I scoured the web for some time and found someone (slatedroid thread on Mintpie P90) that he just installed some apk to get gplay to install the apps that couldnt install initially.

So I went on a hunt for arcmedia.apk and rockplayer.apk. I was lead to all kinds of strange sites with no success. I need your kind help on 2 things:

(1) Can you tell me if this apk route will work better than the build.prop mod (I am afraid of messing up my new apad b4 I get to enjoy it to the fullest!)? If so, where are the "usual" places i would find such apks freely downloadable.

(2) I rip some dvds to h.264 (mp4) format so that I can (kill 2birds) load to ipad (for wifey) and to apad (for me). It played on the ipad but refused to play on apad - that's where the abovementioned 2 players come in. Any advice on ripping or format that is dual ios & android?

IMHO, build.prop edit will be better if you know how to. If you don't maybe try getjar which is like alternative of gplay. As for free warez apk, you are on ur own

Ok, thanks. I will try to rip to that format. BTW, I am using handbrake (no watermark but slower) and DVDFAB (has watermark but faster). Will let you know if this can solve the apad issue.

Hi, mine is 9.7inch- about 1.5wks old. As of today, the battery runs for about 5hrs active (2.5hrs of movie, 2.5 hrs messing with setting, gplay and surfing) + the rest standby hrs- I recharge every 2 days. Recharge time is very long - 5hrs to get to 100%. But having issues with the battery indicator (see my other thread). Still monitoring the battery life and will update if there are any significant changes.

That's quite good actually. Wanted to get the ones vi40 earlier this yr. Missed the chance and just forgot. Might go for the ainol 7", seems like New models coming up.

Got myself a chuwi v8HD, quite good actually. ..its battery, touch response,speed and price..Maybe its just my past bad Xp with mic tabs.
Waiting for Ainol Nova7 tornado, dedicated for car: music,maps, movies, karaoke, carcam, etc.

u can't play mp4 file? By right Allwinner A10 default player can play liao UNLESS that mp4 is encoded with a rare codecs. Try rockplayer.

Why go for Ainol Novo7T? It's like a downgrade of Novo7A. Novo7T uses Amlogic M3 which came out a month after A10. It never gain much porpularity then, mainly cause Allwinner A10 is a better chipset for medias.

Even Amlogic M6 aren't as good on benchmark compared to RK3066.

Might be more worthwhile to get Gemei G3 or G2 which is abt the same price as Novo7T.

Found the rockplayer (apk) - now all my videos are playing superb. Now I just need to do a one time rip of my dvds into ipad H.264 and then transfer to ipad (for wifey) and apad (for myself) and we both enjoying movies on the go

BTW, Under settings, there is a "system updates"- I have been pressing that button for updates since day-1 but it always returns that your system is up to date. What I am curious about is that it always returns instantaneously to report that there my system is up-to-date.

Mx player seems best for me so far be it A10 or M3.

N7T for car use only. No need hi-res, can play music, kars, pics and vids, quick map search can already. No reading/surfing. No GPS needed in Sg.
Cheap cheap $100, put in car, no scare window smashed and stolen.

1) Dont support them, the more you continue to support meaning to given chance for them to corn more consumer.
