My last remaining WD drive (1TB Green EARS) just failed SMART. Other than the Raptors, every single WD drive (mostly Greens) in my hands seem to just fail after 1-2 years with bad sectors/cannot read.

Samsung and Seagate was fine... :s8:

did you buy your HDD from bizgram? what do i need to bring when i bring to bizgram?
i need to RMA my 1 TB green as well.

Yes I bought it on Thu. I brought the HDD in its original packaging and the receipt. They will ask you to go to another unit to check if it is indeed faulty before exchanging for you.

the problem is i didn't buy it from bizgram. i bought it during 2010's comex or something.
i am actually looking for alternatives places for RMA as both of the designated location are too far for my convenience.

Cannot lah. All the storage media manufacturers only provide the replacement of the storage media, not the restoring of the data inside unless u pay extra (this is hefty). U can pay for third party to restore the data too (this is hefty too).

You can send the HDD by post to WD directly.
The website should tell you where to send when you register the RMA .

I tried to register my product at Western Digital's website.

However, when I keyed in the purchase date, the warranty end date did not get extended to the appropriate date. Does anyone have the same experience?

What should be done? :s11:

They usually give extra 3 months for the warranty. If you purchased 6mths after the manufacturing date, you'll get 3mths shortfall. :(
