Does anyone experience freezing issue with M4?

It occur again just now when I was surfing the web normally with my music turned on. You could hear the music slowed down drastically and nothing is responding.

So I force shut down my laptop, in order to re-detect the my M4 I have to go into BIOS menu.

I have already re-install my OS (Windows 7).

IIRC, my previous SSD (G.Skill Phoenix Pro) also have this issue.

Any solution? :(

hmm m4 & g.skill ssd have diff controllers so problem not controller-specific. try setting "turn off hard disk after" to "never" to see if its sleep/power related...

Hmm... doesn't works. My laptop just froze again.
u may want to look into registry fixes similar to this one, How to fix your SSD freezing issue (we hope!) - The Corsair Support Forums

i not familiar with those reg fixes, as i try to avoid any ssd that potentially require it. so u shud ask/read around for more current instructions.

btw did freeze problem occur right after u swap hdd for ssd? quite rare it seems, ur freeze problem is total unrecoverable freeze + change other ssd still happens. any chance not ssd-related?

My Intel SSD has this issue. Do you see the HDD solid in colour?? After some troubleshooting for mine, i found out this.

1. The moment i'm connected to Internet and there are Internet activity only it freeze but i think actually not freeze, just that the SSD is being access aggressively i think so i can't do **** about it. Try disable your Internet connection and see if helps.

2. I figure it's silly not to have Internet then work, so i follow the guide someone put it out on how to optimize your SSD. I followed a few, not all but i think the one that eventually solved the problem is disable Indexing.

Now my SSD work normal le but like no speed advantage :s13: And it still says i'm using RAID when i'm not. Bah

Not sure if you are having the same issue as me but try try.

Hmm... I thought of it too. It only occur when I am using SSD.

I just updated some of my driver via the manufacturer website.

Hmmm looks like Intel 520 120GB have dropped to a really reasonable level now, is it worth to buy ?

in the budget of 150-170s, considering the Crucial m4 128GB, Samsung 830 128GB and Intel 520 120GB now.

will be on a SATA2 board so lol.........

Crucial M 4 128 GB SSD. best value ?
I plan to hoot to use as spare hdd like gaming on. it

Huh? Usually it's the other way round for most people.

Not enough space, just move your media to secondary HDD

I run my M4 256gb (OS/PROGRAMS/GAMES) with 500gb (BT)+320gb (STORAGE)

curious, i ran the cmd "fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo c:" on my ssd drive and the output is--
Bytes Per Sector : 512
Bytes Per Physical Sector : 512
Bytes Per Cluster : 4096

kinda surprised, i thought at least "Bytes Per Physical Sector" should be 4096 for ssd? instead it looks like mine is 512-byte native (like older non-advance format hdd), if so how come proper alignment during os install is required?
Information about Microsoft support policy for large-sector drives in Windows
any insight abt this? thanks... :s11::)
