actaully what is the diff in buying capital land limited (CLL)and capital mall trust (CMT), they are from the same company right? so if i buy CLL it is the same as buying CMT? as if CMT make money it means CLL makes money also because CLL is the parent company of CMT? which one is better?

To cut a long story short, closely related but quite different.

CMT is a REIT that mainly owns retail malls in Singapore. CMT is 28.56% owned by subsidiaries of CapitaMalls Asia (CMA), which in turn is mainly owned by CapitaLand. CMT has a right of first refusal from its sponsor CMA for retail income-producing properties in Singapore. As a REIT CMT has to distribute at least 90% of its income to its unitholders or get taxed on it.

CapitaLand is a property developer that also holds substantial stakes in companies and REITs such as CMA and CMT. These were once part of them but were partially sold as part of their capital recycling strategy.

Of course gotch difference.

CLL is not a REIT. CMT is a REIT.

It is also a different stage of the property cycle. In a property development cycle, it starts with aqcusition of land, developing of the land, generating income from the property, and maintainence of the property.

For Capitaland, it deals with property development. SO it is at the very front of the property development cycle. It's main business is in the aquistion and development. For CMT, like what others have said, is a REIT. It's main business is really in the generation of income (through rents) and the maintenance of the properties (enhance of their properties etc). Both have their cycles.

Capitaland ot Capitamall? It depends on which part of the property development cycle you fancy. Also, do consider about the potential yield of the stocks and the dividend yield. Dividends Warrior would have more insghts on the front of dividend yield. =)

Buy CPL lose till chui long term
Buy Capmall sure make long term

i rather you buy 30 lots CMT......collect div 4 times a year.....shiok to the max.

Nothing wrong with buying into CMA and CapLand. Not everyone is yield crazy. Some may be looking for capital gain instead.

CMA CLL CMT, which one is best to invest in if i want captial growth within next 1 year or so. and at same time is relatively safe stock and good growth?

If you are looking for growth then CMA and CLL will be your choice.

If you are looking more for stable cash flow, then CMT is your choice.

whats the diff for CapitaMall.ES.1209 (Q5X), and CapMallT2%b130225 (NI7Z) and the normal CapitaMall (C38U). can anyone enlighten me thanks
