becos 1 page is 8 sectors or 4k. if not align den ur page break into 2 :s42:
ohai cnt :). wat i mean is, i was expecting the fsutil result to be
Bytes Per Sector : 4096 (or 512)
Bytes Per Physical Sector : 4096
Bytes Per Cluster : 4096

for above, if starting offset is wrong, then i understand wat u stated will happen. but instead my ssd fsutil result is:-
Bytes Per Sector : 512
Bytes Per Physical Sector : 512
Bytes Per Cluster : 4096

which is same result for all my other non advanced format hdds (512-byte native). so im confused...

Samsung Unveils New SSD Series at SSD Global Summit

Samsung Unveils New SSD Series at SSD Global Summit | bit-tech.net

The unrivaled performance of Samsung’s SSDs lies in its MDX controller, which delivers superior performance, high reliability and sustainability that are among the product’s proprietary features. The premium class 840 PRO provides 100,000 input/ output per second (IOPS) for random read and 90,000 IOPS for random write*. Benchmark test** on the overall system performance unveiled a three-fold advancement when applying the 840 PRO in place of a conventional hard disk drive.

If you benchmark the same SSD by Sata2 and Sata3 connection , the results is almost the same. What can be the problem ? For Sata3 connection the results suppose to be better than Sata2 connection , correct ?

What's your SSD? If the max speed of your SSD does not exceed SATA 2, then SATA 2 or 3 there will be no difference.

What Sata2 and Sata3 controller is used? Non Intel Sata3 controller may not perform better that Intel sata2.

Ordered a Strontium Hawk yesterday (impulse buy), SSD was delivered today to my office.

Cloned the image from my previous XPG900 and system started without a hitch. Can't feel any noticeable difference from the previous SSD, so I guess it's pretty decent.

To StrontiumSG:
Please refer to my AS SSD scores for 4K Write.

Based on the review here, Strontium Hawk Series 120GB SSD Review - ATTO & AS-SSD Benchmarks - Legit Reviews

They are getting ~78MB/s on 4K Write, whereas mine is only ~ 61MB/s. Any explanation for the gap in the results?

Other than that, the drive performed much better than what was stated in the review, so it's safe to say I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase right now :)

Happy to understand that the HAWK SSD performed well in your tests and you are happy with the purchase.
Regarding the issue which you mentioned, we will check with them and shall try to get something from them. BTW, the review was done on 120GB version

According to the reviewer,

"If you are using it as a primary drive or it's not in a fresh out of the box state that could be the reason why the drive is slower. Also they runs secure erase between benchmark tests. "

Hope your query is clear now
