N7105 Root and custom rom flashing tutorial (R&D stage)

I just got my N7105 (at Starhub) and was eager to root it. I used CF Autoroot and everything's ok except for the OTA and the device status "modified".

after reading the posts here, what I did to fix the OTA was to do a factory reset after doing TA and that's it. I tried OTA update, it says that I have the latest update.

Just to check, Binary counter was also set to '0' and it shows 'Samsung Official'. Device status also shows "Normal". I didn't have to do the CSC thingie.

Isn't this general knowledge? Google for CSC, it's just carrier customization (apps like SingTel junk such as ideas, amped).CSC changer is for those who didn't get from telco and their customization is non existent (no bloatware) but are either not getting the latest OTA or getting it late, but not a huge issue now that it's out on sammobile.

The erratic network is due to the rom. I'm using LJ3 base with LIB modem and it still happen. But the phone switch to 3G soon after I use it. Will try with FD off and monitor

Actually it solve my media scanner problem... The erratic network indicator is just a glitch... The network speed isn't affect... If not can try HK rom... But need to hybrid oucsc into it... Shall do it tonight and try

Flashing the Hong Kong firmware.

Also downloading the ROM from the Chinese website, and will test this later as well.

Finally, will be flashing ARHD (probably the most messed up ROM) for n7100, pulling out baseband from the LJ3 (latest SG firmware) or from the HK rom if the signal isn't retarded, and flashing it over ARHD.

Update: silly me, forgot that HK runs on UTMS, going to flash baseband over now and see how it goes.

The signal retard is not cause by the modem aka bandbase. It the rom base itself.

If this is true, are you saying there won't ever be cross-compatibility for n7100 and n7105 roms?

Can't download it from there at all.

Yeah... I swap the modem and still the same problem... So modem won't solve the problem.

Yahoo... Posting from HK LJ4 rom... Before flashing this rom, I couldn't receive 4G from my house. But now I can best of all, I manage to retain local csc (root needed for the csc)...

May need to reconfigure the APN setting. Tweakker from Play store will provide step by step instruction on how to do it

Just finish download the N7105XXALJ3优化CWM包 and was intend to flash it tomorrow, but then saw this LJ4....

It the modem that came with it. Don't ask me why it old than LJ1... Haha... May flash to LJ1 modem soon
