Here is a good advice. If you do not need it, turn off all location services in settings by default. Only turn them on if you need them. For google maps, i turn on gps by the notification center when I need it.

Turning off location services greatly improved the battery life!

Here u go.

I'd like to reiterate that time is mostly spent idling as well as Whatsapp/Line with very light surfing.

Batt is definitely bad, my friend who's streaming radio all day was at 56% at 5pm while I'm at 37% idling.

Also, tap on the history bar and give us the battery History Details.

Your signal sucks.

You don't seem to have a wakelock problem, at least not by much. But quite a bit of screen on and off to do stuff. Since that is part of normal usage, the only suggestion I can give is to narrow down what is causing the phone to be awake when screen is off. All your battery drops on the chart correspond to screen on aka phone is being actively used, so not a problem.

As usual, CPUSpy and betterbatterystats are the tools. Also, I find that doing a reboot daily does help at times.

One way to narrow down problems is to leave the phone alone for an extended period of time (maybe 5-6hrs overnight with the usual connectivity switched on),then use the above tools to see what's going on.

I'm sure for Note 2 there are quite a few basebands floating out there. U gotta ask around and see who have better luck flashing what basebands.

But if not rooted, then there's nothing u can do. Tell ur telco to wake up their idea. :D

did you put it to airplane mode? did you have any app that is running in the background? to see which app is running, you can use betterbatterystats from the playstore.

This is terrible...hahah

You have a lot of apps running without your knowledge, with some attempting to access the net quite frequently is my guess...haha

Reduce your synch frequency

Shut down apps that you aren't using before you go to sleep

Download apps like CPU spy to see how much time your phone is in deep sleep

 1% per hour of standby mode! how to achieve that! lol. i cant really find the root of problem leh. i just know my android OS drains the most battery, sometimes maybe slightly lesser than screen.

apps that take up abit of the batt when i nv even use are maps, google services, and dont know what system(*wakelock*) lol.

but from the stats i dont see whatsapp being the main culprit leh? whatsapp like only take up very little battery only? :s11::s11:

Use this guide bah - it has helped me a lot :D

went to Samsung service centre yesterday to address my note 2 issue of it battery drain fast then charging. And They will be they can update to software to reduce battery drain wor, but the software is inhouse software and the phone will be reset and everything delete after the update. But also found out that maybe is the cable issue, but i tried using 4 different usb cable but all the same.

what nonsense are they talking about? they are simply resetting your phone to factory state by reflashing the storkc firmware.

I tried killing apps and putting my phone on airplane before I go to slp but can't achieve your standard. Any advise?

7 hours will drop 5% for me.

Notice the 'Awake' portion is not as good as yours.

Do I have to turn off WIFI, sync and data? I am assuming airplane will actually cut all those off as well.
