That's correct. On CM, when there were signal problems, swapping the radio/modem/baseband solved them without changing rom and kernels.

Purpose of jumping through hoops to get Nexus 4 is to have the pure Android experience without the need to bother with roms or kernels. Rooting it to fiddle with third party nonsense defeat my personal purpose of using Nexus 4.

It shall remain as paper weight until that developer's 4.2.2 with v.44 baseband is release. Then N4 will meet Starhub again to see if there's anymore kokanadan behaviour.

Ah, but have you thought of the fact that you're using a device with a baseband that is not meant for our telcos?

Yup, that's why I didn't raise this with Starhub and left it as a paperweight. Without IDA approval, it might be illegal too.

pull the notification bar down, press and hold on the notification, then app info.

Then uninstall that crap.
