i got surprising good battery life today, was outside for abt 10 hrs n battery still left with more than 70% but i must say that i din use much of the phone today. is it normal for the batt to stabilize only after a few days?

i wonder y the SlimRom RC1 is not updating anything to RC2. Rootbox seems to be updating more often with their nightlies n official rom too

You on Slim now?

i just flashed to Alliance Rom V6 and having used it for 4 days, I must said it is pretty good though battery life is not fantastic. anybody tried it too? any pros and cons?

Very tempted to jump ship back to stock ROM. Bored of AOKP ROMs already. How has the battery life and performance been so far? :)

hi guys,

i have an unrooted s2. recently, after flashing the stock jb firmware XWLS8 for my s2, my whatsapp doesnt vibrate when receiving msgs, even though i've put my phone in the ring + vibration mode. had the same problem when i was on the leaked jb firmware XXLSJ previously too.

however i did not encounter this problem when i was on ICS DXLP9 (prior to all these jb firmwares). is there anyway that i can fix this problem?

also, for some unknown reason, im unable to turn on my wifi. after i try switching it on, the icon lights up in dark green, then turns itself off again. i've tried flashing to other versions of firmwares (both ICS and JB), but the problem remains. could this be a hardware problem?

not sure whether this is the correct thread to post in, but any help is very much appreciated. TIA! :)

S2 just received XWLS8 not too long ago, most apps not yet stabilize on this ROM release, you may want to write to the developer concern.

To narrow down really h/w problem, can you use your S2 as WiFi hotspot? When was the last time your WiFi worked? Have you flash anything lately? Did you do full wipe before flashing?

read somewhere that ICS overheats S2 n cause WIFI chip to burn

Ah, I see. Maybe it's a conflict between the new firmware and whatsapp.

My wifi issue happened around 2 weeks ago. Went out for dinner and suddenly couldn't turn my wifi on when I got back. I'm quite sure that my wifi was working prior to the dinner though. Did not do any flashing before my wifi went berserk too. b

Regarding using my wifi as hotspot, I'm unable to turn it on at all, so how do I test it? :o

Haha, that would be the worst case scenario. :o

Now I recall I read somewhere that our S2 (GT-I9100 only) has a hardware-related WiFi problem. It's reported that a small battery cell is leaking acid onto the adjacent WiFi chipset. The suspect could be due to heat built-up and it explains why the problem pop-up months after we got our S2. I have yet to encounter this problem probably because I don't play games, and I undervoltage & sometimes lower my max scaling freq to 1GHz on my S2.

Ok, found some tomato sauce to back the claim =:p:

Hey guys, can anyone tell me any difference major between Wannam ROM and NeatROM? I find both ROM almost identical. Both ROMs are popular. I am currently on AllianceROM and I'm loving it.
Any views on the latest LSD ROM? Currently there's 3 official JellyBean ROM for S2, LSJ, LS8 and LSD.

Actually I just tried Wanam rom yesterday. It's super smooth on the default rom and I've heard that the battery life is much better then in the previous version.

The only thing that I didn't like (or perhaps couldn't find) is the lack of customization options. I had like 25 toggles that were not aligned properly and I couldn't choose which to remove and which to keep.

Another problem I had (like I did in alliance rom) is that multi window is rather unstable and you have to reactivate it after reboots etc.

But overall I definitely found it smoother then alliance 6.0. I recommend giving it ago with you don't need toggle customization. (Don't select the 25 toggles in aroma and I think you should get the defaults)

You're on LSD-based? How about NeatROM?
