Latest & Final Update on My Journey
Well, I was supposed to collect the ring in about a week time from today but Casey (JannPaul) informed last week that it was ready. Kept to his promise and even had it ready before the date we agreed upon.

Came down alone. All exicited. Had two cigs before I went in. Sadly Casey wasn't around but I saw whom I think is Aaron attending to a gentleman. Maybe the customer is here reading this. Haha. Anyway, Casey wasn't around so a lady helped me.

The box with JannPaul name and then the ring box itself. Open it...fantastico! I was given the ring, the box and surprisingly being my first time one of the scope. Another lady took the ring to allow me to confirm that the laser inscription is the same as written on the GIA.

Paid everything by cash (2% less) and was smiling like a donkey home. In terms of service, I would give JP 5/5. Its perhaps due to the person as Casey do have a long background in the industry based on what I read and knows what he is talking about.

Imagine sitting with a customer for 2 hours. Being polite and patient. Answering every questions. And not knowing if the customer will commit or not. Now try doing that everyday. I can't do that. This is the reason why some jewellers that you go are quick and try to push their products out quickly to you.

Sad to say such service attitude is long gone from our shores. Its very rare to see a business conduct itself in such a manner. Maybe I am a noob. =P

Well, thats it. All that is left is the proposal date. Shan't post it here. LOL. Oh and I don't think I can post pictures. So if anyone wants to see what they get on their collection date, whatapps me ya.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way connected to Jp by friendship or business. None are my cousins. My aunt. My uncle. My Ah Gong or Ah Mah. Just a first time buyer that went through a rather interesting, exciting and educational journey with the above company. All I done in my previous posts are just sharing my journey with you guys as what others have done.

Cheers.

Nice! Congratzz on your buy! Any special proposal plans? :)

P.S. Think you better say after you propose in case your gf reads the forum :s13:

I've seen some people with Solasfera melees and Brellia melees before.. I think you can choose which type you want.

Hi experts,

Can I have some comments on this diamond? Anyone know what are those black triangles near the center in the ASET scope?

Yup. The one you circled are the hot spots.
You can also seem the in your diamond's Ideal scope photo.

Thank you bedposthalo. 1 more question though. I thought we should try to find symmetry in diamonds but these hot spots are not symmetrical so how is it good. Sorry but couldn't find more information about hot spot in diamonds online.

Hot spots are not necessarily meant to be symmetrical.. The symmetry you should look out for it in the arrow base and the arrow head. Like their round diamond below have hotspots in different sizes too.

You are asking too much with too little info mate... no offense =P

Looking at what you provided, I recommend giving the 0.65 a miss as the symmetry is VG instead of EX. (I suppose they are GIA certified?)
Symmetry is a big concern affecting the overall fire and scintillation i.e to say how evenly they are spaced out throughout the diamond, with less then Excellent symmetry, portions of it might not return light as well as others.
I would try to at least maintain a triple excellent diamond. Within triple excellent, there are bad ones already.
I'll pay most attention to the cut as to me..it is the most important.

It is easier for us to help you if you give us these details..

Carat: 0.52

Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent

Crown Angle: ?

The first diamond looks fine so far.. The HCA score is 1.0..
Will have to see the other ASET and H/A scope pictures to analyze further..

The second diamond has a hca score of 1.8.
The crown angle is too high (over 36 degree) and the depth is too long (over 62%). The diamond is going to look smaller..
The lower girdle length is too small for a star length of 50%. Try to get a lower girdle length 80% to optimize the fire.

Good luck in your hunt :)

0.5x for about 3.4k settings about 550.
0.3x for about 2.1k custom setting about 800.
