It had damn good bass for an armature, but they've ****ed the timbre up badly somehow - my orchestras sounds like they're playing on improvised instruments instead - isolation pretty poor, cable was horrible (probably one of the worst microphonic cable I've experienced, weak puny strain reliefs), decent soundstage but not as big or deep as the mg6s, vocal texture not up to par with the mg6s, bit weak on the dynamics, it doesn't even compete in the same emotionally evocative arena as the mg6s, and is pretty heavily coloured. There's a unnatural tinge to the sound especially obvious when switching from, or to, my MG6s.

Agree on the colouration, dunno if isolation will improved will comply but unlikely able to enjoy them on train rides.

Long awaited upgrade! :D
ESW11LTD earpads!
Damage: $76 :s22:

Initial impression: Slightly bigger soundstage. Slightly more bass. Bass is slightly more controlled. Vocals are slightly warmer. Clarity Is slightly better. Seems to have a slight change in balance. Comfort is a lot better. I think all these changes are cause the newer pads aren't flat like the used old ones :)

I'll do a proper comparison after I come back from a hackathon.

Hi guys
I'm looking to buy a pair of headphones and could use a little help.
I tried the m50 awhile ago and felt that it did not have enough bass for me.
I often listen to bass heavy songs.
Would the ws55/ws77 be good for me? Or are there better choices?

Also, if I were to buy it BNIB from another forumer, how could I ensure that it is authentic or that is it still covered by warranty?

Thanks!

Ask the dude if still got warranty remaining. I bought my ATH-A900X used but when it arrived, the warranty card was unfilled which results in an unused warranty i.e. i have full warranty. Total damage $160. Anyway, its the A900X has the bass imo. But its $450 in Singapore new...

How much is your budget? And just how much bass is good for you?
You can try the WS99, ES10 or ESW11LTD :D
May be a little pain for your wallet though... :(

To check if it's authentic you can Google around and compare with fakes or just ask around here. To check for warranty, you can ask to see the receipt/invoice.

Hi guys, I'm selling my ATH-W3000ANV + accessories as well as various other audio gears. You can PM for details. Hope that this post isn't too intrusive!

What are the AD headphones (other than the easily-recognized AD700)?

You have two sets of W5000? That ESW10JPN sure looks yummy.

AT fanboy indeed :D

Me very far from your standard :o

Bro you where got far sia, under portable-fi section you have owned almost every single legendary collection from ATH, CK9/CK10/EW9 are all highly-recognised models from most ATH audiophiles/fans all ard the world. In fact i would go as far to say if one is not crazily chasing for that out-of-head soundstage experience or ain't into desktop setups/full-sized headphones, this 3 is actually enough to 退燒 in terms for portable-fi liaos.

I acquired the CK10 since Feb as shared with you earlier via my msgs, and I would say it's a good companion tgt with stuffs like CK9/EW9. If i was not spoilt by the monstrous resolution of the CK100Pros as i hold a personal bias towards it, i would say CK10 is a good enough replacement for CK100Pro if one doesn't have the moola for flagships or don't like the wearing style of it. Ease of wearing/comfort wise CK10/CK100 still beats CK100Pro to a fair extent, at least in my own POV since I have most the CK family now. :o

@kusanagivn: That's some very nice pictures of yr ATH collection, thks for sharing with us! Gunning for the W5000 woodies somewhere in the near future for myself too, i actually like this more than the W3000ANV limited ed model itself, as I felt that alot of ACG female artist performs much better on it compared to the latter.

In fact, I like the CK10 and EW9 so much that I had recently gotten a spare pair for both for collection (better physical condition than mine). However, I am still very interested to get a pair of CK100Pro.

I am struggling to decide between the W5000 and W3000ANV. Like the former also because of how it sounds for ACG female vocal but also wanna get the latter for collection. Decisions, decisions...
