To be frank, I got no idea man!
It's a sinktel set and I rooted for the sake of root explorer and titanium backup.

Unlocking bootloader is an intentional action (you need to go to a Sony site to enter your IMEI and get an unlock code). Most probably, your bootloader is still locked.

It's strange that you still have root after you updated to 10.1.1A.1.253. Many users at XDA have reported root was lost after the update and the previous rooting methods no longer work.

i dont really care if it's 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 but many bugs are resolved in this update. most importantly, the user experience and interface is greatly improved....

actually when i got my arc in 2011, i reckon root is a must to enhance the experience the software. when i switch to xperia s, toward the last 6 months of ownership, i realised the software had improved quite a fair bit and hence root is not required.

then come xperia z and i rooted when the exploit is out, but i flashed back to stock because i dont need the need of root anymore. Sony Mobile is delivering a stable software for the mass public now... guess we call that progressive improvement.

Agree with you cos last time they are consider quite new to Android so now they have made tremendous improvement for their firmware which deliver user-friendly and stable firmware for all users. =:p

No update as well on my side.. Used PC Companion to try and update but it states that no updates were available. :/

Anyone has any workaround?

Even for my Xperia Z, there is no issue after updating but just feel that I should also do a PC Repair to wipe off all previous data and installed apps in order to enjoy a clean firmware from the start. =:p
