Hey guys, I saw this point written in the specification of the B75A-G43 GAMING motherboard on MSI's website

"Due to a Windows 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed may be less than the size of the physical memory installed"

Does this mean I can only install the 32-bit version of Windows 7? and does it mean if I install 8GB of ram (2x4GB) it will just be a waste?

It means that if you install a 32bit Os you will be bounded by the limitations that the Os have

Oh..Hahaha it sounded to me like "you can only install a 32-bit version and suffer with the limitations". Thanks so much for the clarification :s22:

Oh! Hahaha! Ohya Skyrim needs a better CPU instead of GPU to play on high right? Think my 3470 will be able to handle it?

It's not that cpu intensive my amd 5800K was able to handle it with ease using a 7870 :)

Hmm..then why does MSI states that it has a Windows 32-bit operating system limitation?

32 bit addressing means the OS can access up to 2^32 (4294967296) addresses of memory, and that is 4Gb of RAM. 64 bit addressing will allow you to access up to 2^64 addresses extending to 16.8 Exabyte of RAM in theory. Its not a MSI problem, its just a requirement to go beyond 4Gb. Windows x64 imposes a limit on the address space though, depending on version but its pretty hard to hit that limit. :)

In simple terms,

32bit Windows 7 Home OS - limits you to less than 4GB ram usage.
64bit Windows 7 Home OS - limits you to 16GB ram usage.

That I know. I'm just unsure if the B75A - G43 Gaming will support 64 bit windows 7

Ok lets see, if in a neighbourhood you can only have addresses with block numbers containing 2 digits, you can only have block numbers between 00 to 99. But what happens when you have more than 100 block of flats in the neighbourhood? You'll need more than 2 digits to represent the block numbers. Therefore, its not the problem of the neighbourhood but the problem of how the blocks are labelled. Mails sent using the old 2 digit block numbers will never reach the right address. :s13:
