Why can't i mention the name? Well they are a good and legitimate free service for our learner drivers out there, so i'm just sharing with the rest of our members.

Just because i'm a new member doesn't mean anything. If others can share about their good experiences, I believe i am entitled to do so too.

For those interested in finding a good private instructor, just google search le driving instructors, or you can pm me for their web.

Yep, my experience with le driving is also good, like I just told them what I'm looking for and they helped me sort out the date, time, pick up location was at mrt too,
My Instructor was also happy to book TP for me after second lesson

Woah....after reading all your horror stories, looks like its really hard to find a good PDI.
think i'm lucky to a certain extend.

Mine actually work in partnership with another instructor.
Initial lessons are by his partner, lets call him Mr. T

Mr. T, allowed me to drive almost straight away on my first lesson (I did not have any prior experience, totally new to driving), he showed me the basics then let me drive around in a carpark, before asking me to drive outside to the roads...the first lesson was pretty good, he also teach me 3-point turn and basic parking.

After that basically 75% of all the lessons i'm doing parking...parallel and vertical, did not have much driving outside and changing lane (which i'm very weak at), it became very routine.
Most of the time Mr. T, would fall asleep once we reach the carpark and I started doing my parking.........it was quite boring.........but I also became quite good at parking......so not sure if I should be complaining.......

Towards my test, the main PDI, lets call him Mr. O, took over from Mr. T
Boy! it was a world of difference, Mr. O is damn good and he does not take pee breaks (at least not during my lessons anyway, Mr. T pee break quite standard 10-15mins every lesson)

Mr. O is very professional, he explains things very clearly, draws charts and stuff (Mr.T not very good at explain things...)
And I can feel he genuinely wants me to understand and pass my test, because he is very busy sometimes my lesson with him can be late like 10pm to 11pm or 11.30pm but he doesn't mind......

If he had started teaching me earlier I probably wont need to take so many lessons from Mr. T and would have saved some $$$

He teaches Auto, BBDC.

Hi ninja could I get the contact for Mr O ? :s8:

Reliable & Proven Driving instructor

Hi all

I seldom write reviews but I just have to share my wonderful story. I am 20 years old and I passed my practical driving test 1 year ago with 8 points on my FIRST attempt.

I took my test at woodlands driving circuit under the driving instructor Steven Ong Choon Tee. In short, he is a stern but extremely reliable instructor. If you can get past his temper, you'll likely pass on your first attempt. He is sort of a no-nonsense instructor who teaches you to pass in his own way. I heard he has been teaching for 40 years now.

Here are his details:

Name: Steven Ong Choon Tee
Rates: Off Peak (8am-5pm) - $28/hr
Peak (5pm onwards) - $30/hr
Contact: pm me for contact
Area: Teaches near admiralty MRT station
One-time enrollment fee of $50
Duration of lesson: 1hr 30 mins
Teaches manual

His schedule is usually very packed so you'll have to call him early and arrange for a lesson. I took a total of roughly 23-25 lessons to pass on my first try.

Try him guys, you will be in safe hands.

Pm me for more enquiries

Hi guys,

What happens when we change instructor after we have booked our tp? Do we need to pay the test centre or smth? Thanks.

Go to the registration counter at the first floor, tell them you want to update your private instructor's IC number

No need pay one, at least for BBDC

PDI Manual at BBDC

I'm looking to start my manual driving lessons at BBDC asap and I've shortlisted the following few PDIs whom I think are okay... but I would like to be absolutely sure before I book anyone; heard too many horror stories of bad PDIs.

1) Mr Ong Teck Kiat
2) Mr Seow Eng Wah
3) Mr Ang Hoe Guan
4) Mr Peck Chin Huat

Please give me feedback on their teaching style and rates! Also, if you have their contact number, please feel free to pass it on to me too.

Thank you :)

hi, would like to do my homework early so am here to enquire..

i saw many people intro-ing good PDIs but mostly west or north..

i am in the east. like to find one in the east..

i am a "Ex" driver.. just retaking license again... so driving is not a problem for me at all..

i never took from sch or private before. last time my license given by SAF..

so i hope someone will be able to intro me a good instructor who willing to teach someone who knows how to drive and not wana keep going round and round making me take unnecessary lessons..

I know logically most of them need to earn $, so i am ok with taking the std lessons, but 20+ lessons for me, i think maybe no need, unless i suay suay cant pass on first TP..

location: east / CDC
manual class 3 only.

hope i can have some numbers soon :)

Beware of this PDI, Mr Pang Quek Foo. Teaches at yck, driving a dark blue lancer. His number is 98183686/81593341. Very impatient teacher, uses his laptop and handphone while u are driving ( 3rd lesson only) doesnt really teach, scolds you and gets very irritated for slight mistake. LATE for lesson and forgets your timeslot too. googled and found about him after i signed up. regret.

1) Mr Ong Teck Kiat
2) Mr Seow Eng Wah
3) Mr Ang Hoe Guan
4) Mr Peck Chin Huat

1) Mr Ong Teck Kiat was my driving instructor, he taught my brother 11-12 years ago as well.
His facebook is: http://www.facebook.com/teckkiat.ong
His handphone number is: 9383 2788

Quite a good instructor imo, pass 2nd time at 20+ lesson.
First TP was 10+ lesson.

2) Mr Seow Eng Wah took me for 1 or 2 lessons for circuit when Mr Ong Teck Kiat dont have enough circuit slots at that time.
His handphone number is: 9111 0909

Both Ong and Seow drives a Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.6 Manual
Both are very experienced imo, they know the common errors people made while driving. Eg know my back wheel going to mount kerb cos i turn too fast and too soon, car jerk cos release clutch too fast, know i turn too late/early, gear never engage properly.

As for Mr peck and Mr Ang i have can't comment because i didn't have any lesson with them. However you can google "Peck Chin Huat", i think i saw some reviews about him which you may be interested to read
