dude. These are NOT authentic Nanoblocks.
They are LOZ Diamond Blocks that ripped off Chris Nanoblock's designs
You can find the Elmo Instructions here
you can find the Danbo Instructions here

Any collector worth their salt will know how the authentic Nanoblock Elmos look like as well as that there was never a Nanoblock Danbo release.

If you are going to sell imitations, just state so. You could get a buyer. Please do not claim that they are authentic - or rather give an impression you are selling authentic goods by playing around with the words.

These are authentic Nanoblocks, built off other sets and selling as assembled from a HK shop with kawada packaging of Daruma for the Elmo and Giraffe for the Danbo. It is not a imitation, they are 100% authentic and there is no need to play with words.

I hereby humbly request that you remove any false accusations unless you have bought some and proven it to be fake.

Yup, the shop has them packaged in "Giraffe" and "Daruma" bags, meaning the danbo was probably created from the Giraffe bricks and Elmo from Daruma bricks. They are NOT cheap imitation and I am not trying to sell any fake bricks. The Elmos are priced higher probably because there is no white/black bricks in the Daruma package and the shop probably has to use white from somewhere else.

Please remove any false accusations unless you have bought and scientifically prove that my bricks are fake. In those cases, as I mentioned, full refund will be given back.

Thanks for the clarification. Are these pre-built by the shop or you made them yourself? Are the pieces glued together already?

The reason the collectors are very sensitive about this is because a famous free builder Chris Tan's creations have been copied by a Chinese brand. Any advertisement selling his creations without proof that these are created with real Nanoblocks would be questioned.

yup, prebuilt by the shop and not glued together.

The shop sells BNIB unopened packages also and mentioned that the customs build from authentic blocks as with the main colors package, ie Elmo from Daruma, Oscar from turtle/crocodile/koala, Danbo from Giraffe etc etc. They told me that some customs are not able to get a complete just from a single package and hence priced higher. I also bought a huge Totoro from them at SGD$50 (HKD$300), they have packed 4 or 5 bag packaging from sharks/piano/hippo in with the Totoro.

No issues, for me, I dont even know who chris is until its mentioned by members here. Actually, for me I just bought a number of pieces for friends as souvenir and have some leftover pieces and thought I share it with some collectors here. Possibly good for those who wants a custom but don't know if a unopened pack can complete the creation.

Anyway, I can show them to you to verify the bricks authenticity if you fancy. Thanks for your sensibility and taking time to explain the local community scene.

I stand corrected and will remove any allegations against you.

However, it does not dismiss the fact that said company (that probably combined a few packaging together) used Chris's designs. They are probably the same company that combined two american shorthairs to make a schnauzer.

I hope you understand the disgust behind using the instructions put up by a free-builder for profit. The blocks can be authentic because they took them from actual un-opened packagings - but the instructions are widely available online.

The only difference is knowing the exact piece count in each packaging so that one will know which kits to buy to make the custom pieces.

You might be new to the world of Nanoblocks as you mentioned that you don't know who is Chris Tan. He is a household name for anyone who are into Nanoblocks, so it is assumed that everyone knows who he is.

Here is his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/chrisnanoblock?fref=ts

It is unfortunate that his creations have been pirated by this Chinese brand known as LOZ Diamond Blocks( ZhenFeng Science and Educational www.LOZTOYS.com).

Based on your photos, they can be mistaken as products of LOZ although I haven't seen any products listed on its site. The blocks seen to be made of good quality but your prices suggested something else.

You may also want to read my FB note on this issue for awareness: https://www.facebook.com/notes/stra...s-counterfeits-and-copyrights/599859093358144

Why the fans are upset is because you are 'endorsing' the shop by buying Chris's designs and then re-sell them to us. It's like taking something for free and make a profit. Whether these were bought without any knowledge of fakes and whatsoever, the shop was dishonest about not telling you where the designs were from.

Actually, for me, I think its a good way to get those customs built. I will not know what kits to buy to build a required customs and might end up having to buy too many sets to complete a custom. Some may argue that this is where the fun is but for myself, I dont mind if all everything is readily available but I just don't like the idea of running around to find that last elusive packet of whatever colors or pieces.

Anyway, the price from the shop is not over the hill, BNIB kits cost about 60HKD-98HKD there and thats what they are costing their customs built so I really dont think they are profitting from free builder design (which probably explain why they went out of business) :s13:

Well, they did tell me it was custom and even if they did mentioned "chris" or whoever, I wouldn't have known it on the spot. Isn't Singapore kits selling at S$13.90? I actually bought alot of kits at mostly 78hkd and 98hkd and then a friend told me SG is cheaper.. $12-$17ish is IMO not overpriced for a custom built that I don't have to pay for more than 2 packets of raw. Totoro is a different story cos it was huge and overly cute :s13:

Anyway, I'll take them off, not trying to profit or endorse anything here, just thought I share with the local community.

The price might be higher before any closing down sale discount is included. You were probably lucky to get these for cheaper.

I know some shops in Hong Kong combined kits to create unique stuff; one shop did a giant Fortune Cat with a couple of fortune cat kits.

I guess we all learnt something from this incident. :)

You may be right, I guess I was just looking at the price at I paid for. I was actually trying to find the big cat after I saw the big violin/piano in Dymooks but the logon shop at Langham place is sold out. Hopefully it will be in stock again when I'm there later this month again.:s12: From what I hear its not over priced and is in fact cheaper than seperate bags of cats bundled.

You have my apologies from me! :) And yep, it has been sensitive, thus all the commotion! Let me explain myself so you may not feel so offended!

1. LOZ's issue, like already mentioned by fellow friends.. I think I don't have to say any further.
2. It was exactly at Causeway Bay where I saw the products and selling at +-~$14.. Can't exactly say I have 100% trust yep?

But thanks for clarifying, we are just trying to protect copyright stuffs for the community. Chris just came back and we love having him around! Haha.

No worries. As for 2, I believe its the same shop we are in, somewhere behind Times Square and those +-$14 stuffs are those single packets one, Danbo is selling at 60HKD (SGD$12) so I believe a packet of giraffe is enough for it. As for the Elmo, I was told it uses some white and black pieces from other packets so hence the higher price. Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, I bought them as gifts and has some left that I thought I share with the community at my cost. If I'm just out to make quick bucks, I would be better off getting the new hello kitties from HK MacDonalds.:s13:

No la, I meant the ones I saw were LOZ, that's why I was a little skeptical when I saw what you posted haha. :) There were actually shops selling LOZ products in HK, which was quite sad.. And that's also why I asked whether you were sure whether it's actual Nanoblock.

Anyway, I think it's still fine selling it if you're sure it's authentic nanoblock but would be better if you did mention that this are customized from certain packs etc. :) More of selling the amount of bricks to build the design (like 10*1x3 brown, 20*2x3 red etc etc), instead of selling the built set itself. Then direct them to Chris' facebook/blog for the instructions. And yep, I do understand you haven't heard of him before, but now you do, would be nice if you would let them know when you are selling!

From the link that was posted on LOZ, ZhenFeng Science and Educational www.LOZTOYS.com

I just went through the entire collection and there isn't any Elmo or Danbo listed.... :s22:

Anyway, now that the issue is clarified, at least those that has already gotten from me will have a peace of mind that their bricks is truly authentic Nanoblock:s12:

It's your choice to sell and for people to buy them. I am ok with that. But information about it's origins must be clear.

the bricks are authentic, but the design isn't.
It would have been much clearer if you posted a picture of how the packaging looks like. Assuming it's the same group of people behind. They probably look something like this:

hknano02.jpg

hknano03.jpg

Then you would not be mistaken of trying to peddle LOZ products - but instead the HK retailers who packaged 2 or more kits together to form a custom design.

It still does not dispute the fact that they stole Chris's designs. But. You didn't know that. So it's all fine. :)

I'm sure you can see whether the bricks are authentic with your eyes and hands. From the photo, everything looks ok but certainly not enough to prove that from cautious buyers.

He has stated that the shop pre-built these, so I'm not sure if there was any packaging. He might have a receipt though.

Hey I have some news for you from a friend.
He says you can try contacting
Yuji Hibino e-mail - He's the distributor rep for Kawada. (who posted his contact details publicly on FB)

However, chances are you would have to contact the country distributor.
And unfortunately...it's from a re-seller from Amazon...it might get abit sticky =\

But do try email anyway.

Awesome bro!
Thanks for the email. In fact I have been having trouble getting any response from both the Japanese seller on Amazon and Nanoblock's FB page.
Will try Yuji San's email and hopefully get something I can work on.
Really would be damn disappointing to buy such a huge set of nanoblock and not be able to fix it due to a packing error for 1 type of block.
