After so many years singtel modem still a lot of issue and even for Fibre BB. V Sad.

LOL. which brand do u know has no issue?

last time the singtel fibre indeed had problems. Nowadays the PACE 5520 is quite stable already. If cos, user has to restart it frequently, and i am sure no router in this world can operate infinitely without a restart. Even corporate infrastructure does a daily maintenance.

Now i saw a user getting Aztech GR7000 for singtel fibre.

Now i feel skeptical due to aztech product..

I have network error on Sunday when trying to watch youtube on my TV. Reset it and it can work. Monday same happened. Keep changing Modem, 8 mths time change 2 times. Same problem since ADSL time till fibre now. More than 5 yrs. Changing ISP soon. ASUS RT-N56 is good. Very sad.

:)

I have a SingNet 15Mpbs ADSL broadband @ S$28.90 to transfer out. Is there anyone would like to take over? Comes with the white MioBox & I can assist you on setting up as well.

The contract ends in September 2013, so about 14 months left.

Anyone interested are welcome to PM me. Thank you~~

for this kind of transfer does it mean can totally transfer ownership to another person or must use back the previous owner name and only can change address?? :s11:

How to check if current contract is ending soon? How advance do we need to call to do a re-contract?

Have you called 1688?
Recontract phase usually in the last 3 months, seems like the next good timing is during COMEX(August)?

my contrct ended and im on 6 mbps plan. i would like to get faster speed, but my main priority is cost.

anyone knows if the retention department offers special prices for fibre?
if not, means im left with the $23 10mbps plan or get fibre from m1. but ive been using singtel broadband for a few years now and barely any trouble for me. afraid switching to m1 will be a cause for headache.

if you are happy with the 10mbps, stay with it
$23 10mbps is cheap if you don't need the higher bandwidth.
have you factored in the phoneline charges for comparison?

one headache to consider would be the fibre ONT has to be at the fibre point, will that be a problem? ;)

yeah, nobody seems to mention about the phoneline charges other than the fact they get $5/$10 rebate, so i can't really compare. do you know the charges?

the fibre point will not be a problem for my house. i think. heh. ive no idea actually.

what im worried about is that if i take up the 10mbps plan, i might be on the losing end. M1 alrdy stopped offering broadband, so im wondering if i should jump over to the fibre ship.

M1: 39/mth = 200mbps + house phone + mobile broadband
singtel: 23/mth = 10mpbs

at end of the day, stay with singtel if you dont need the higher bandwidth. If signup with M1 have to consider all the costs involved then average out then also termination charges even when your contract has ended etc

My recent experience with them for your reference (currently on 10Mbps ADSL).

ADSL:
1) If stay on 10Mbps, 1 year contract: $23.90/mth and phone (DEL) line less $5/mth.
2) If re-contract 2 years, get 15Mbps: $23.90/mth or $33.90/mth (i forgot which is which) and phone line less $5/mth.

Fibre
3) $44.90/mth for 150Mbps Fibre (this was before SingTel recent announcement $49.90 / 200Mbps, hence I believe they should be offering existing subscribers $44.90/mth / 200Mbps)
4) $39.90/mth for 100Mbps Fibre but w/o Mobile Broadband.

Remember when you talk to different SingTel/SingNet people, they tell you different things and they don't record down what the other person told you. So be prepared and get the name of the person whom you talk to.

Other consideration:
a) Registration and Installation fees (though in most IT/Computer shows, they waived it) for Fibre cannot be waived.
b) If you are planning to relocate and if you are still under Fibre contract, the relocation will cost you a lot more than the normal direct exchange line (DEL).

my contract ended and i m on 6 mbps plan. i would like to get faster speed, but my main priority is cost.

singtel: 23/mth = 10mpbs

If you already with SNBB 6 Mps, you should know what is your phoneline charges.

singtel: 23/mth = 10mpbs + $5 rebate for home line

I decided to get Singtel's 10mbps $23+ offer. I checked my account that I am able to recontract since last year september (1 year after sign up), so I called up 1688 but they say I've to wait til sept this year before I can get 10mbps. :(
Means even if I am eligible for recontract, I still have to wait til my contract really ended.

Thought you can call up before your contact ends? I call up after it ends this year. They refused to back date. .. But told me to call in 1 month before the contract expires next year

This is not a standard promo offer. It is avail only thru the retention dept.....not the normal CSO promos. Thus, most times, the CSO will refer customers whose contracts are ending and intent to terminate, to the retention dept. Bec of this forum, awareness has spread and most forumers will go directly to retention dept for the offer.

From my experience...in the early days, they will call before ur contract ends to ask u to recontract.....nowadays....they wouldn't....u've to monitor and call 1 mth before ur contract ends....or pay the normal rate after ur contract ends.....until u recontract.

if you call them too early (even we can recontract 3 mth early), they will not offer you this package. They will suggest to us, call in 1mth before the contract end.

Last yr, I call. The lady talk very nicely to me..
say.. your contract will be end on June. Now is Mar, I can recontract at this package but it mean your present contract shorten by 3mth. Why don't recontract when the contract is ending. Like that you will not lost that 3 mth.

It sound reasonable. SO I call in June but I miss the date by few days (I think only 2-3 days).
I told the lady , I miss the date , can back date. The lady said.. no problem.. (talk nicely la. Dont talk like they own u)

This yr, I email them using the feedback channel.
They email back to me with the 2 package offer and call me. Ask me which package I refer.
