Hi everyone!
I have an old Longines that I recently unearthed from deep inside my drawers. It was a gift from my parents from about 10 years back, which the teenaged me promptly chucked aside and ignored.
It is currently in quite a sad state. First, I believe I will have to replace its battery as the watch is not working. Second, the material from the box around it has disintegrated, leaving a white membrane/film stuck onto the leather straps that I cannot seem to remove.
Would anyone know where I should send my watch for servicing?
Upon perusing several watch forums, it seems that going back to the Authorised Distributor would be most appropriate? I have no receipt or record from the watch though. And I'm also worried about the cost of servicing when going back to the AD.
Alternatively, would anyone have recommendations as to reputable third party watch repair shops? I currently work in the Marina Bay area so anywhere around the city is convenient for me. I've heard that there are a couple of shops in the Peoples' Park area - are they any good?
Thanks in advance!
