It's absurdly huge. And when it breaks, which itsurely will, getting it fixed will be hard at first and impossible when they go broke. You will then have a very expensive executive toy.

I have actually tried one on my wrist when it was first brought in by the AD...... Maybe its me but seems okay for size leh.

That said, I'm partial towards it lah. Hahaha.....

Thanks for the advice - didnt think of that. Yeah repair is gonna be a nightmare.

What watch are u getting? Milan should be your best bet for many of the brands among these 3 places.

I tio watch gong-tao liao..
Want to ask.. You guys will buy a Orient Moonphase for $450sgd? Or if you can get a hamilton AUTO(simple face with no chrono or moonphase) at $600sgd.

I want to buy one very nice watch and stopped. Nnow thinking whether to go for Orient, Hamilton or to go for the Maurice Lacroix Entry level (simple face) for $1.5k .. AND STOPPED BUYING!!!.. lol..

My whole intent is to get the best value for money. I heard federique Constant is cheap but quality lose out to Maurice Lacroix for sure.
But i also read somewhere that nowadays. to qualify for the SWISS Made Label in your watch, your components only need to be 50% from Swiss. So a lot of brand use the ETA/Time movements from China (which is the heart of the watch) and we are paying for the branding only.

Hi everyone!

I have an old Longines that I recently unearthed from deep inside my drawers. It was a gift from my parents from about 10 years back, which the teenaged me promptly chucked aside and ignored.

It is currently in quite a sad state. First, I believe I will have to replace its battery as the watch is not working. Second, the material from the box around it has disintegrated, leaving a white membrane/film stuck onto the leather straps that I cannot seem to remove.

Would anyone know where I should send my watch for servicing?

Upon perusing several watch forums, it seems that going back to the Authorised Distributor would be most appropriate? I have no receipt or record from the watch though. And I'm also worried about the cost of servicing when going back to the AD.

Alternatively, would anyone have recommendations as to reputable third party watch repair shops? I currently work in the Marina Bay area so anywhere around the city is convenient for me. I've heard that there are a couple of shops in the Peoples' Park area - are they any good?

Thanks in advance!
