my UOB One card has problems with transactions. in this one month, about 3 times already the merchant tried his/her best and cannot go through. what can i do as a consumer? go back to bank also do what? change card?

i have a lot of ongoing recurring monthly payments with this card. changing is quite a hassle. appreciate any inputs....

You need to call the bank and tell them the card is spoilt, they can replace the card without changing your account details so it doesn't impact your recurring monthly payments.

Yes what I meant was to do a replacement. Recurring monthly payments won't be affected.

Im moving away from Manhattan card and going to use ONE CARD for cash rebates. Can I know for what expenses / merchants, can I pay using One card via OUB internet banking? Appreciate if you could list it here. Thank you.

No doubt UOB One is the best for the first $800 spent. But I gave up on this card because of some disputes with the card centre. They terminated the principal cards, NOT the sup card, unilaterally without notice and forfeited whatever points we accumulated including points earned on other UOB plat cards. Sup card was allowed to keep spending while main card was terminated and sup card cannot redeem the points!

I find it odd that the cancelled the main card while the sub cards are still active.

I am surprised that you have major disputes with card centre until your cards are terminated. Care to share what happened? It must be something major if they cancel your cards.

Hi, can I check, if I am just aiming to hit the $300 tier for this card every month, can it be from my monthly Starhub bills and town council charges? Or must it be from purchases from shops, restaurants etc?

No constraints, any spending also can.

Thanks. This combo nets me 3.33% rebate, which certainly beats POSB Everyday card's 1% rebate for Starhub and 0.3% rebate for town council charges

Just to clarify, am I right to say there is no point in spending more than $300 on this card in any month if I am not able to hit $800 (the next tier) for the remaining months in the quarter?

Yes, that's right. Once you decide on an amount like $300 then you need to spend this amount by hook or by crook to get the rebate. You can pre-paid your bills to make up for shortfall in spending in particular month. When spending exceed $300 then use another card. I usually will only pay my bills 3 days before statement day so i can control the amount charged to the card.
