Hi, thanks for the advice. indeed, I already have a DDNS service under dlinkddns.com.
the issue that I have now is that I can't seem to port forward it through my ST Pace router! Any advice?

I'm a couple of steps away from yanking it out from my network and just throw it down the bin soon..

Have u input the DDNS details in the NAS. Get the Dlink DDNS sever to sync 1st. I think muz also enable the remote access.

does your ST Pace allow portforwarding?

Hmm... Good question but i believe yes as i am able to access the router's webUI and there is a setting for NAT Enabling and Port Forwarding. Question is, which port number?

Hmm... I turned this off on my NAS.. Lemme try turn it on later on and will revert if it works. But still, i'm not too sure which port to forward....

I believe you will have to setup port 80 pointing to your NAS ip address port 80

For remote NAS access, preferably to use secure HTTP and port-forward port 443.

As for DDNS, enable it on the router if it's supported else use the NAS one but don't enable both.

I have 2 hard drives and 1 seems like going to failed.
I'm using the Standard Raid means both hard disk is a volume of its own.

How can I swap the faulty hard disk and when the web gui detects, it will not reformat the other good hard disk?

I tried going into drive configuration and went through the steps, it reformated both hard drives!

Hi,
i just gotten a 320L and started using it. I am able to access to my network drive using my android phone. Here's what i did. I created a user account and enable read/write access to the raid volume. Next I used Astro file manager to look for drives in local network. You should see your workgroup, click it, then u will see 320L in the list. Click on it and you will be prompted to enter your id and password to access the drive. Then wait awhile and your folders in 320L should appear. For ES Explorer, it is similar. go under network, select LAN. Do a scan and you should see your 320L's ipaddress. click on it and you will see the shared volume. clicking it will also prompt you for id and password. hope it helps.

Hi Bro,

thanks for the guide. The method u mentioned is for internal lan right ? What about remote access ? As in accessing the nas when outside . using 3g/4g instead of home wireless. U able to connect ?

no one here has issues with deleting completed torrent ? thanks !!!

I'm new to this networking thingy.. I would like to ask if I were to access my data from NAS using public & mobile network, How can I do that. I know I must do a port forwarding. I had already done so. Next is create a Dynamic DNS. picture as shown below. But it fails. Don't know what i'm missing out.

formatting one hdd

hi all, i need a bit of help here. the following is my current setup in my dns-320.

right slot: 2tb hdd
left slot: 1tb hdd
configuration: standard

i only have network shares pointing to the 1tb hdd. but i would like to upgrade the 1tb hdd to 2tb. i have a spare 1tb hdd on my pc, so to start off, i will copy everything on my left slot 1tb to my pc's 1tb (which is sufficient). i have the following questions.

1. if i were to remove the 1tb from the nas, and insert a new 2tb hdd, will it prompt me to format only the new hdd, or both 2tb hdd?

2. will the config of my network shares for the 1tb stay the same after the upgrade, since i will copy everything back to the 2tb from my pc?

thanks in advance.

IF not wrong it will format the ejected disk or may prompt u which to eject. However do u know which is which? Drive volumes maybe reassigned.
So don't risk...BACK UP.

IF not wrong the config shares should remain.

Do perform the above and update here so we can learn. Thanks.

1. It will not auto format the hard disks ever. You have to insert it, and then go to the web admin. On the disk setup page, it will prompt you to run setup wizard or something, and it will prompt you on whether you want to initialise the unformatted disk.

2. If the folders are all the same, iirc the shares will remain.
