Btw can i check if the utility driver for PCE66 necessary to get full AC speed? I have to uninstall from my windows 8.. it was the culprit causing unknown crash and reboots in my system after installing.

Which board are you using?

using asrock Z77 pro 3 board. I read the Z87 board having issues. But it's causing random reboots for my Z77 board as well.
Was verified when I uninstalled, it went back to normal.

We have tested Asrock Z77 no issue with PCE-AC66.

Only all 8 series board have issue.

Wireless Signal Weaken Overnight

Hi ASUS@SG,

I encounter 5ghz(AC) wireless signal weaken overnight. The signal will be back to normal if I do a reboot on the router.

Router: RT-AC66U, Firmware: 3.0.0.4.374_726
Wireless Card: PCE-AC66U Driver: 6.30.95.26
OS: Windows 7

Router Setting:
-General
General-5GHZ.png

-Professional
Professional-5GHZ.png

Before resetting the router:
Transfer speed to NAS(Write: 18+MB/s, Read: 28MB/s):
NASSpeedBeforeResetting.png

Window Status Speed is shown as: around 250mbps

After resetting:
Transfer speed to NAS(Write:30+MB/s, Read:30MB/s):
NASSpeedAfterResetting.png

Window Status Speed (526Mbps):
SignalQualityAfterResetting.png

Is there anything wrong in the setting or something is wrong with the router?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I am also having problem with my speed on my RT-AC66U + USB AC56 adapter.. My AC66 is just placed few steps away from my com but even with full signal strength at 5GHz.. I am only getting 130Mbps stated on my windows wireless connection status.

I am using the latest Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.374_726 and driver for both device.

Anyone knows how to resolve this issue?

i'd same issue on rt-ac66u and usb-ac53u too, whenever i upgraded firmware, connection speed will drop. i'm happy to stay on stock .270 now :s12:

i'd feedback to asus@sg but seem all firmwares updates do not solved connection dropping... I'd long give up on them to solve this issue

Ya.. it's ridiculous that my 5Ghz mode is having the same speed as 2.4Ghz... wads the point of us spending more money for a higher-end equiment like that..

BTW do you have any idea how can i revert the firmware so that i can run at the max speed on 5Ghz?? THanks

Huh?

The max allowable Tx is 200

if i set 200 and the router burn

is my fault????

If u tell us over-clocking out of existing supported range, then nothing to say. If within range n router spoil then its manufacturer's problem n warranty will still b valid.

new fw

After upgraded the new FW, I have problem transferring file size of more than 5GB to NAS, at certain point, my router will kick my wireless connection out, tried both AC53 adapter and built in wireless on my notebook.

Anyone encounter this?

been reading in smallnetbuilder forum, seems like the WiFi degrades overtime issue is still not resolved.

Previously Im getting 4-5 bars for my AC signals throughout, after the previous upgrades of firmware, it degrades to 2-3 bars after some use. Anyone facing the same issue?
