Hey bro, if 10 shop sell 630 and 1 shop sell 588. It is actually better off buying the 630. This is to avoid unnecessary trouble. This theory always work. Don worry.

No worries, I'm not blaming anybody haha. You provide good after sales service too, which is a very good plus compare to other shops. Cya tomorrow :)

Hey can check with you guys the battery life of Note 8 LTE? I believe mine got very bad battery life...

On 100% full charge, I did video, Web browsing, left 55%.

With the remaining 55%, I played Dead Trigger, and Tony surprise the battery died completely in roughly 35 to 45mins?!? And I saw the battery counter timer, total usage only 1 hour and 50+mins.

Anyone know if play 3D gaming, the battery will drain so fast?!?

That's true, but when I'm on my class's desk, I lay it flat on the table and wanna use it, it's really too dark to do so, I'm wondering it's actually not PLS panel used, PLS panel viewing angle cannot be so weak, example it's like 100% brightness on normal viewing angle, and 30% brightness when looked flat angle, which is not great, hopefully 2014 edition model will be better.

Quite true, after comparing it with my nexus 7 2012, I find that the screen is a little darker. My nexus is set at 10 percent brightness and note 8.0 also set at 10 percent brightness, the difference is very big. I guess this is due to pixel density ? or the type of panel they used ?

Oh by the way, I'm curious if anyone actually used the Note 8 as a mobile phone? I'm planning to switch my Sim card from my S4 to my Note 8 and try using it as a phone for 1 week, if it's okay, then I will sell away my Note 8 :D

I'm using mine as a phone with BT headset. Battery life pretty good actually. Not sure why a few here complained about the battery life. Extremely convenient as well as now I only need to charge 1 device (other than the BT headset) instead of a phone and a tablet. It is a very good eBook reader too.

Cool, but I'm not going to get a BT headset to use as I'm not 100% sure I'm using it as my main phone.

My battery life isn't that great, especially for gaming, you can download a free game call Dead Trigger, or maybe other 3D games, this Tablet battery drop like water if gaming.

PS: Tried on my S4, playing Dead Trigger for 21mins only drop 10% battery. Note 8 drop more than 30%?!?

Doubt it's due to pixel density, it's definitely the Panel used, and I'm 90% sure it's definitely not PLS Panel. There's reason why Samsung didn't advertised it as AMOLED or PLS Panel for all their lower end tablets.

this unit does not go "well" with gaming.
as you mentioned, batt drain like water.
For web surf 7 note taking, its fine

Are you all using the note 8.0 with the current touchwiz interface? I really like the tablet and planning to get one but the touchwiz bothers me. Are there launchers available?

Also in my other thread, I was stuck between the new nexus 7 and note 8.0. I went to opensurface and checked both products. I loved the screen resolution in nexus 7, but the lacking 1" and the sd card slot makes me wanna go for note 8.0. If note had a higher resolution I'd not think twice. Does the resolution make a huge difference?

And how can i connect note 8 to a projector via a vga jack?

I'm getting a tablet in 2 days so I'd appreciate your feedbacks

Mete

You have to really ask these questions

1. What this tablet is going to for you for your next 6 mths or maybe 1 - 2 years in time ? ( notes or gaming )

2. What kind of screen resolution you prefer to view ?

3. Does that additional sd card going to give you any much of use if u get a 32gb nexus 7 or you get a 16gb note 8.0 ( expand with 32 or 64 gb ?)

4. Are you going to write alot of notes or just play alot of games.

As a nexus 7 2012 32gb wifi user

- nice resolution even on 110 degree the panel can see the image

- great battery guess due to graphic management on power usage

- I manage to play minecraft for 7 hours and still have enough battery to read ebooks for 2 hours before it went low on 20 percent.

- the wifi is excellent always full bar I am away from router by 1 concrete wall, and 6 meter away.

- for note taking it is quite not pleasant unless you like to write really big words especially when writing the letter "e, r , v , f ,d " for me its a problem since the words come out weird.

- very well and good updates since it belongs to Google whatever version they comes out benefit your first before other type of tablet.

As a note 8.0

- resolution is nice for a note writing
- others not too clear since I only got it last week maybe others can help you fill up their result.

I'm also pondering over Nexus 7 FHD and Note 8 and Tab 3 8.0 last time.

In the end I went with Note 8, due to the MicroSD card and LTE, the S Pen, well, even I'm currently in studies, I don't find myself using it as much, usual Pen and A4 paper are still much preferable lol, especially to take down notes and drawing of diagrams, S Pen aren't "there" yet.

Tab 3 8.0 is a good alternative if you don't need the S Pen, almost specs, it's a tad slower than Note 8, due to dual core and 1.5gb ram, but you won't notice it unless you are stressing the CPU, other than that, the smaller bezel and of course cheaper to get.

Nexus 7 FHD, the only reason I find myself in getting this is the FHD screen, but other than that, nothing interest me. 7 inch is too small for me, also without LTE and MicroSD is so headache for me.

Note 8:
Best out of the 3 in terms of productivity.
S Pen
Note taking
Quad core
HD screen 189ppi
2gb ram
MicroSD up to 64gb
LTE
Phone call capabilities.

Tab 3 8.0:
Great if you don't need the S Pen over Note 8
Dual Core
1.5gb ram
HD screen 189ppi
MicroSD up to 64gb
LTE
Phone call capabilities.

Nexus 7 FHD:
Beautiful 1080 FHD screen 330+ ppi
Faster quad core
2gb ram
No S Pen
Better optimisation with Google
No LTE
No MicroSD
No phone calling capabilities.

Listed out almost all of the differences, have a read through and decide.

PS: There's bound a 2nd gen Note 8 coming out next year, roughly March or May, with upgrade specs like FHD screen and Snapdragon 600 or 800 I hope. But it's gonna be priced back to $800. Depends if you need it now, for the S Pen, if not, if you just want the 8inch form factor, can wait for LG G Pad 8.3

Yeah I guess, it's not optimise well enough, but I was so shock that it drained it like water, 55% in 30mins, in the end I need to charge 4 hours, the ratio abit sad.

Yeah, Note taking won't eat too much battery, but it won't use much CPU to begin with lol. We're talking about a big battery of 4,600mah tho, it can't be so weak, if not I believe Samsung didn't care for the multimedia part optimisation, just think everyone will go for it as Note taking.

I do use my note 8 for gaming. The games I play includes yi dai zong shi and fish island (3d with vibration alerts game). As u mention ur full charge with video and web browsing brings ur batt to 55% from 100% is kinda worrying cos even if I watch a video using qvod for 1hr at most drop 10%. Maybe u have a faulty batt? Mine can last me 15 hrs with constant usage of gaming video and web browsing (on and off) with 20 percent batt to spare though.
