Hi all,

I just got the Z Ultra yesterday(export LTE set though), but I have some questions for reading the Sony & XDA forums.

1. Has anyone's screen/back glass shatter or crack for no apparent reason so far?

2. My Update Center showed that I have the latest firmware .493(?), even though the latest fw available is .526, refreshing the Update Center does not bring up any new updates.

Therefore I resorted to using the Sony Update Service on the PC to update the firmware, which brings me to my next question. The program shows that a 740+ MB of data/firmware is to be downloaded.

However, I only have an average internet connection, and can't download the whole thing in one shot. Does the update service keep whatever progress I have downloaded for the next time I plug the phone in again?

Sad, Today i when to Singtel Shop to make a 1to1 exchange due to the screen yellowish. But still the same, the staff bring out two brand new set to let me choose and exchange. but still got yellowish screen.. Sian sia... And i do compare they display set, they're sets whiter den mine. So FUNNY and WEIRD...

I think the yellowish screen is acceptable, in fact it is soothing to the eyes. Mine is just a little yellowish, have to put side by side with another set to see the difference, but in the earlier post there was a buttie that screen is too yellow already...

I think those with minor difference can wait for the sw upgrade.

The Sony guy just called me again this morning after I sent him some photos regarding my yellow-ish screen yesterday. What he said was the new firmware release should definitely fix the issue and they are still running their internal test as of now. He's trying to push for the roll out of such firmware as fast as possible.

So I guess you should save your trip to any service centre first, wait for the new firmware and see how.

There you goes. I used above method and it work on C6833

Can you share some benefit of rooting?
I don't need move app to SD because 11GB is more than enough for me to store the apps.

This is my first Sony phone so I also don't know how the Update Centre of the companion software work. Maybe it will download the update files to your PC first, then transfer it to your phone via USB and install from there.

Anyone finding the ZU wifi card seems to be lacking? Easier get weak or no signal at my usual spot whereas other phone and devices seems connected fine.

even though the screen of ultra is really nice, big and good for games and videos.
I feel like something is missing...

Well, it's just a big phone. Little novelties like that wear off fast. I think the price is falling fast, too.

I know, saw the starhub trade-in for ultra.
It's $300

I just hope to put it on the marketplace to at least cover enough for me to end up paying $0 for note 3.

They showed me a set that was not new. I suppose the service centre is doing that to every one who brings their phone in now. I have recorded the imei number. So those who wish to counter check can PM me. My screen appears to be whiter now though, but it is still dim compared to the display sets, even with both set to full brightness

That sucks, having super bright show room sets and dim sets for retail.

The set he showed me was also brighter, but it was more yellow as well. And I doubt it's a new set. The front protective sticker was not aligned with the screen.

Rooting enable you t have root access which allow us to flash Custom rom (Need unlock bootloader too), Install root specify application to enhanced your phone capability etc.

Ultimately, Different user got different usage of the root.

1. Got 1 user sasid he got issue with 532 when he update from 526. so he force downgrade back to 475 and upgrade directly to 532. his issue resolved.
