Re-contract Singnet 10 Mbps?

No free modem was given. I assumed that I could exchange for a new modem if the old one is faulty.

You owe me $60 + half x $46.90 subscription fee, $83 round down.

So if I sign up with this. I will be paying at least 39.90 (including phone line) and additional a few dollars for phone usage per month.

Is switching to M1 a better choice for flat 39.90 a month? Is the one time installation charges worth it?

It is definitely worth to switch to M1 as you are using Fiber. Better latency (Speed of light) and better reliability than aging copper wires.

You get to port over and retain your Singtel number as well.

200 Mbps VS 10Mbps? Seriously? You can watch TV online for free as well! 10Mbps nowadays cannot do anything except minimal Facebook, Google Search and Hotmail.

Mobile BB is always slower than Home BB.

3G / 4G coverage is the keyword of slow or not.

Some telco's 150Mbps plan on the go's typical speed is only 5Mbps ~ 40Mbps.

So the actual speed used on that plan is less than a third or even an eighth of it!

Soon to come telcos will cease operation for BB with phone line. Just like the 54k modem days. Then those user still on BB will auto upgrade to Fiber maybe free for 1yr. During my 54k modem usage, it was upgrade free from 54k - 256m - 512m - 1m. Only start to pay from 3m onwards.

I thought phone line rentals are billed quarterly? If every month $10 a lot of people would be making noise..
