bro sorry la.. i noob, can i ask if the HDD 3.5" can fit 320L?

This NAS only accept 3.5" HDD as there is a need to attach handle to the drive due to the slim design.

FYI, DNS-320 can accept 2.5" HDD but there is nothing holding it to the cage as it's sitting solely on the Sata connector.

Hi all just bought dlink nas 320l...need some advice regarding on how to setup until having a login page for people to enter username n password before accessing my file in my nas through ftp...

I already set a port forward at 2wire from singtel and port forward at nas itself....i also create a user that require username and password...then i set the network share to with anonymous non so by hook or by crook people need to login before accessing...

By doing that i always cant access my file.....but if i set to anonymous read/write i can access with out username and password....

Hope it is clear enough
Thanks for reading

Hi All

I am pretty new to all this NAS stuff and started the below thread to seek recommendations. Can someone please tell me whether this DNS-320L would meet my needs?

Not to be rude or anything, but you should really do your research before posting.. this nas lacks usb3. You would have realised if you bothered checking. Then again, I don't really see why you need it since you can use a lan cable connection which would be pretty fast as well.

Any idea if D-Link is updating the firmware to support BT magnet link? I tried not to install Funplug/Transmission if possible... also, did D-Link disable telnet? I can't log in telnet with Putty or something I need to do first to gain Telnet?

Magnet link is in the "wishlist" but when or if they are ever going to be included is another thing.

AFAIK, telnet is never implemented in any of D-Link NAS which is where FFP come in.

Anyway, I just installed Funplug and Transmission with zero error.

but the transmission is not doing it's job...add link not downloading or hang then cannot access the transmission web ui any more...tried all the following already:

Create /ffp/etc/fun_plug.local and add the following:
chmod 0664 /dev/random /dev/urandom

edit /ffp/start/transmission.sh
replace: su $user -c "$command -f" with su $user -c "EVENT_NOEPOLL=1 $command -f"

Afternote: I am still getting error after step 4. If I set the variable EVENT_NOEPOLL manually, it will work but once I restart it will be lost. Need to research more.

Afternote 2:
Decided to add the variable after transmission start instead.

transmission_start()
{
EVENT_NOEPOLL=1; export EVENT_NOEPOLL
if [ ! -d ${TRANSMISSION_HOME} ]; then

how to access printer connected to 320L

need help in accessing such printer. dlink recognizes such printer, evidenced when i logged in.

but i cant seem to add it.

help. this is one main reason why i bought one instead of resorting to a printer server.

i saw previous posts, saying i should click on LP. but i cant find where i can click LP, then i realized theyre referring to 323.

so... are you sure the model you guys bought are 320L or just plain 320? I bought 1 from sls at $89 which I thought was the same... but turned out to be plain 320.

In any case, how the f*ck do you access files remotely? I mean from another computer, what do I type in the URL when I am on another computer? mydlink is NOT available for plain 320 apparently. However, the box still says it says 'Access your contents from anywhere over the Internet'

Not only this NAS has no USB3, from what you describe, you don't need a NAS as you are connecting it to a desktop... A NAS is meant to be connected to a network, normally by wired means. Your devices can wirelessly access your files on the NAS if they are connected to same network.

If you are doing it with a desktop, you just need a two bay HDD enclosure. Then you share out the folders to the network. There are quite a few enclosures out there that support USB3 and eSata.

Help Needed

Dear all seniors, got this nas quite sometime ago, but haven really got down to installing it until today.

Managed to get everything in running order, but somehow, i jus can't seem to register it to mydlink.com for cloud access. During configuration the wizard cancels the procedure stating "unable to register mydlink service, please check your network configuration". Of course my internet connection works fine. I've even tried it on both mac and windows, but both shows the same problem.

Any advice from you guys? I'm using the fibre modem router provided by singtel.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi all,

i have just bought the dlink DNS320L with firmware 1.01 . Has any bro updated the firmware to 1.03 from dlink singapore site? The firmware states that it fixes the bit torrent, but it is labelled as (BETA). Thanks

Just bought DNS-320L yesterday and got it setup and running well so far.

I am able to play my movies from my Samsung Smart TV (connected through LAN cable). But somehow my subtitles (.srt) are not displaying.

How to play the movie with subtitles?

That should be that the TV does not support .srt file. Please check if it support

I think it supports. because when I copy the same 2 files (movie.mp4, movie.srt) into a USB drive, and plug it into the tv, when I play the movie, it will show the subtitles.

however when playing from NAS, it only plays the movie..
