Why the need to auto switch? Just login to the network id which ur hardware supports. The 7002xxx5G)xxx would be the one that's gives u the full wireless speed. eg my iPhone 4S can't detect it. My mbp can detect both

anyone knows if we could enable to usb ports to use?

Singtel told me its disable by default and new to flash the firmware to enable but that might be an issue to them?

I'm having issues with my DSL7002GRV and my Asus N66U. I assume the configuration for the DSL7002GRV is roughly the same as the 7000. Ideally I would be able to use the N66U standalone, but for some reason I am unable to get 500mbps using that, while the Aztech can.

What I'm trying to do is use my Aztech as a bridge, while my N66U handles all the routing. Does anyone have instructions on doing this? I have tried this with poor results thus far:

1. Set Aztech Connection Type to bridging
2. Disable DHCP
3. Disable WiFi
4. Disable firewall
5. Connect Cat 6 cable from Port 1 of the Aztech to the WAN port of the Asus

With this setup, I am unable to get an internet connection if I use a normal setup (i.e. no special vlan tagging). If I use the Singtel specific VLAN tagging, I will continue to be stuck at 200mbps.

Hope someone is able to help. Singtel said they can't help since my Aztech is able to get 500mbps.

EDIT: Upgraded firmware and did 2 more factory resets. Not sure why, but my N66U is able to get 500mbps now. MioTV is not working though.

Your router may not support Mio Tv or its IPTV service, as far as i know asus can. For your Mio TV use your 7002, use ur other router as a secondary bridge/repeater... Then should be fine.... If you have any queries on 7002 please post it on the 7002 thread....

Thanks guys. Stupid homeplugs always add another layer of complexity into the equation. The mere act of moving the plugs to another wall socket solved the issue, even though it was working fine before. 500mbps and MioTV are both working fine now, without the Aztech router. Now if only there was something I could use all that local bandwidth on. :s8:

That's one thing I don't understand why the craze on speed - for home users I mean. For gamers I understand. Unless there are tons of download the whole day - then what does one do with all those huge files? If the download is slow, one just do other things first. After all we are multi-tasking most of the time.

For me 15mbps is good enough, I don't need 100mbps. But I still signed up to experience it, and have been asking myself the same question since - what to do with the speed?

Big difference for ppl using torrents or downloading game files from example steam …

10 mbps = around 1-1.5mb downloading per second.

200 mbps = around 10-15mb downloading per second.

A typical 715mb file which will normal take 1hr suddenly becomes done in 5-8mins due to 'more peers allowed' as you have much much more upload bandwidth to share thus increasing your peers and accelerate the time taken to reach max speeds.

I watch 'the voice' (awesome show) and after watching the first episode (1.5hrs), I could have the whole season in my drive to continue if i wish to … If i was on broadband, I won't have that choice.

True, that's the thing with the NGB, the fiber connections, they have allowed never faster streaming, downloading and even uploading of media at such speeds which 5 years ago took hours in just minutes. This is optimal for those heavy games, torrenters. For example if you want a software, you can download them immediately in a few seconds to minutes.
For fiber, there are no cons, just pros , also with fiber, no one has been able to decode calls on fiber though our calls are not yet done through fiber...when it does happen imagine what will happen

Does the 7000/7002 have USB3.0 ports and can it be used to connect USB drives?
