Will the DNC Registry cover overseas telemarketers?

If a Singapore organisation outsources the telemarketing function overseas, the Singapore organisation that authorised the sending of the message will need to comply with the DNC Registry rules and will be responsible for the sending of the message.

good! that means as long as u receive overseas call selling u local credit card / credit line or other services. can report them!

Just to clarify.

If you gave explicit instructions for companies to contact you, i.e. lucky draws or memberships, these are not covered under DNC.

I foresee what will happen. The companies will do lucky draws. Then in it, got a super fine print says that you agree to receive marketing calls and sms.

Announcement: Update: M1 reported that they have resolved the network congestion and One-Time-Password sent through SMS has resumed to normal. However, if there are delays in receiving One-Time-Password through SMS, please register by calling the toll free numbers.

yup...

don't even need fine print... just put down in terms and conditions that you gave consent implicitly once you hand in any forms with your particulars in it....

What if we join lucky draw for this XYZ company, den it's like giving XYZ consent to send us marketing ads SMS n calls. What do we do if after the lucky draw we want to block against XYZ company? Can we do that?

Consent can always withdraw one.

Is this going to be like the "reply unsubscribe" to spam emails? Ha...

Or like when hdb put in the anti-junk mail feature in our mailboxes, then Singpost comes in and charge advertisers to put mailers in our mailbox?
