Recommend GPU for old CPU

Hi guys,

any recommendation what gpu to upgrade for i-930 @ 2.8ghz?

Current gpu 5870 feels sluggish on new games like ffxiv sometimes

budget 300-400

note: my board is x58 running triple channeling 2gb x 3 atm. Should i upgrade my ram also?

Hi, yeah can consider getting AMD 280x.

But recently due to Litecoin mining, those GPU had been OOS everywhere, but since their price had dropped by 50%, due to China banning it altogether. I expect stock level to recover soon.

Anyway i dun think there will be too much of a bottleneck on your CPU. So dun need worry too much.
