Rig: Digital Piano (Yamaha Clavinova CLP 480)
What type of usage: Playing piano pieces
File format: Unsure
Genre of music: Piano pieces (both classical and modern)
Headphone / earphone type: Headphones
Other requirements: Long term investment; preference for Sennheiser due to good past experience with using it to listen to mp3s on PC/phone but am open to other suggestions
Budget: <$500

I'm not an audiophile but the piano cost a bomb and I do want to get a good set of headphones that maximises its potential.

Thanks in advance!

If you would prefer Sennheiser, you can consider the Sennheiser HD25-1-II. One of the most popular headphones used for sound monitoring.
For other brands, you can consider the AKG K550. The reference class headphones from AKG. :)

Rig : Samsung s4, iPad mini, note 3
Usage: listening to songs on the move or watching movies on the plane
File format : mp3
Genre of music: pop, jazz and I like vocal songs more
Headphone / earphone: recommend one model each
Budget: below 350

Currently using klipsch s4 and already finding it pretty good. Considering some iems this time round and also headphones if possible... Anything better than my current earphones would be good.

Iems better or headphones better? Need some noise isolation as I am listening on the move..

Thanks

- Your rig (PC usage)
- What type of usage (gaming bf3 and music sometimes)
- File format used in your source (mp3)
- Genre of music you listen to (jazz indie)
- Headphone / earphone type (headphone)
- Other requirements (looking for good soundstage for hearing footsteps in bf3)

I was looking at the Logitech g930, Razer kraken and electra. G930 if priced at 69.90 on amazon again then its super cheap. But not sure if it sounds good. Was wondering if bros here got any other recommendations? Thanks!!

Technically the S4 is an IEM because it is in-ear. I cannot guarantee that if you would find any that is better than the S4 as sound is subjective to individual but you can give the Shure SE215 SPE a try. There's also the Westone W10 and UM Pro 10.

It is a tough debate on whether IEM is better or headphone is better, if you want max portability, IEM is definitely the best choice. As for headphones there is this theory that they will always sounds better than IEM of the similar price range. So what I would advise is that you would need to consider if you can live with the bulk and less portability of headphones. And also not forgetting that the climate in Singapore will make prolong wearing of headphones a little uncomfortable especially when you start to perspire. :)

You might want to consider more on headsets with surround sound. Like the Razer Tiamat 7.1 or the Logitech G430. From what I understand the G930 is the wireless version of the G430. :)
You can check out this vid for surround vs stereo for gaming.

Second to the Momentum On-ear. You can let her try the Monster DNA headphones also. :)

Yes they both will leak sound to a certain extend. They were recommended as opened cans are more recommended to be used at home, also due to they are designed to be used at home. If you're looking for closed can, you can consider the Audio Technica ATH-M50 and the Shure SRH440. Both sound quite balanced overall when I tried them, should be able to fulfil most needs even for gaming. Particularly the M50, it is one of the most popular and well-received headphones for a long time. :)

Hi Stereo, pls pm me the special price for M50 black colour. thanks.
