Confusion regarding GPU

I've noticed that there are different brands of GPU for like a model? For example there's sapphire, Msi, gigabyte all those. Can someone enlighten me why are there different brands? And why are the prices different too if the performance are same?

Brands like asus you pay a price premium for them and diff brands diff length of warranty like sapphire only 2 years . Performance are the same bt some prefer one brand to the other

Ohhh I see I see l, I didn't know about it. Always been confused by it. So what are the brands that people
Normally go for and the reason for the brand?

Asus ~ big brand, premium, more expensive

Gigabyte ~ big brand, more affordable , looks dull

Msi ~ good brand, decent price, looks more fancy

Sapphire ~ good brand, pricey and only 2 years warranty

Leadtek ~ good brand , affordable price, old bird in gfx market

Powercolor ~ good brand, somewhat cheapest, good choice if ur budget is tight

Evga ~ big brand, premium, design pretty good and cooling well

Zotac ~ good brand, long warranty

Palit ~ good brand, decent pricing 2 years warranty, design not so appealing...

Oooo I don't think I'm gna be overclocking since my CPU is kinda easily heated up due to my dog's fur frequently clogging up the vents

Gigabyte - Getting affordable. Recent gpus like the r9 280x had sold below msi srp. Dull looking like what Jian19 had mentioned. One of the longest cooler design aka windforce, used among the rest of the other brands. Quality of components and pcb layer used are good.

Msi - One of another good gpu brand. Uses a twin frozr cooler. One of the most quiet cooler out there in market, using a helicopter type propeller fan that is said for good air pressure to push heat out from heatpipes and heatsink. Using military class components for the gpu.

Leadtek - oldest brand in gpu market. Only produces nvidia gpus. Good pricing. Well known for their quadro cards for workstations. Not very good cooler used for their mainstream cards.

after serving army, "Military Class" components makes me cringe

on a side note, what you are paying for these brands in the cooler they use, imo they're almost equal so just get one that has a distributor that is accessible to you

Very informative, didn't know that different brands offer different kinda cooling 'method'. Makes it easier for me to choose

To add on. Just now phone batt flat.

Palit - One of the thickess cooler designed used aka jetstream. They are one of the cheapest brand for nvidia out there offering just 2 years warranty. Their jetstream cooler is so thick that it occupies 2.5 slots. Their cooler fans makes it looks good as it has white led in it. The jetstream heatsink is thick. Allows to draw heat out from the chip well. But the fans are not very efficient imo. It does not have a good static fan to effectively cool the thick heatsinks. Palit is also a very old brand for oem pc manufacturers. They have been found in compaq/hp pc, dell and also some in acer.

Powercolor - One of the cheapest brand for amd gpu. Its heat pipes looks rusted lol. Very dull looking gpu. Cooler wise I would say its not very good. Too much copper pipes used. It is good to keep the gpu cool at start. But after awhile the copper pipes retain its heat and very hard to dissipate. Definitely not my liking and its my opinion about this.

Sapphire - Recently have been jacking up their gpu prices. Not sure why have they done that and no longer being a budget amd gpu. Not much experience from them as my very first sapphire card I got from them is way way way too old. So cant say much.

Evga - Quite an atas brand for nvidia. Not cheap. Its superclocked series gpu are said to have one of the highest base clock gpu among the rest of the other brands. Very stunningly looks fantastic. Not much experience for them as I have yet to own one.

Zotac - One of the oldest brand gpu. Recently came back to sg market. Was once gone for good. But now tech dynamic is the local distro for this brand. Honoring the longest gpu warranty in market. 5 years warranty and yet still one of the cheapest nvidia gpu card. Fugly design for non ref card. And their gtx760 amp! Edition is one of the smaller version than other gtx760. Cooler wise just average. Not much info about the components used.
