Walk by CityChain..saw the SEAGull.

The make seems not bad at all...but CityChain pricing is :eek::eek:
Nothing is less then 500. The Skele is 1-2k.

Any bro here bought Christopher Ward watches before? Specifically their C60 Trident series? Comments? Opinions? Reliable?

met someone incredible last night (watch collector, not another woman).

was at a party organized by my boss. met this guy who looked like your usual kopitiam uncle (yes, the uncle who asks what you wanna drink).

He showed me an IWC in rose gold on his wrist - apparently it was LE to...28 pieces? And in gold (sorry, not an IWC fan so dunno which model....but its face was quite plain) then my boss joined us. The guy continued to talk about his other watches - two Mb&f, three Urwerks, being invited for SIHH, F1 ferrari pit, etc...... I asked him about RM and he declared his dislike for them. He then told me once he's got his hands on a minute repeater he'd have collected all possible complications. His collection is around 3mil. Basically his stories are very interesting and I just enjoyed listening to them.

He left about an hour later and I gave my boss the is-this-guy-serious look. He then told me yes, this guy meant what he said. He just doesn't dress up for ANY occasion.

power.

i am sure there are many uberly rich uncles in Singapore who just don't dress up for anything, cuz my Da-jiu (1st Uncle) also the same.

he lives in one of those old, old private properties along Sim Ming Ave. I last heard that the properties there now are worth millions per unit... drives a nissan sunny... wear clothing from brands like Giodarno, Bossini, hang ten. Wallet are those Goldlion type
but when it comes to watches and his wife, he will splurge... i guess my admiration for luxury watches was more or less influenced by him...

Maybe can just find a nice chit chat cafe and let the watches do all the talking. Sharing knowledge, interesting watch stories, targets for 2014, etc.

Actually I feel more like a poison feeding session..:s13:

Exactly. Bring our watches to molest and talk about watches. :D

I wonder if they are charging 500+ for the cheap ST16 movements or they only bring in the higher end range of watches.

Haha "molest" is understated.. but I think don't need to bring the entire village out. I believe you guys won't want to make it as a show off session. Is more like an appreciation causal meet-up so just bring those you wished to share, be it is just one or not high end. All are welcome!

So you all guys in for this? :s12:

seagull build quality is not too bad, for the price

i tot chinatown there got seagull stall??? no more already?

Ya, the chinatown outlet no more liao, now seagull singapore only at adelphi. Genuine seagull using their best movements and cased in Seagull Tianjin has the best quality IMO. Right now buying a seagull is like a box of chocolates, u never know what you get as there are many sellers with seagulls from different sources, using movements and case from don't know where. This is why i always tell anyone that wish to give chinese watches a chance - Please do not save $$ and buy from ebay and other non-official seagull sellers OR try mushroom brands using chinese movements like Parnis, alpha etc; these brands usually use the lesser grade seagull movements and their QC is never as good as Seagull's. Always buy the big brands in china like Seagull, Beijing, Shanghai etc from official channels and you will be surprised in a good way.

My ST21XX, ST25XX, and ST80Xx movement seagulls all keep better time than my Sinn, Orient and Seiko with non-COSC automatic movements. So far only my Omegas with COSC movements are more accurate.
