A bit off topic but why is this mobo popular when b85 series is actually targeted at small business? Can't really Google the reason so far.

Thinking of building a new rig and this mobo came out in many suggested builds

Technically it is catered for business users. But, because of its price and its ability to cater to one's basic needs, it is mostly used for DIY as well. A gaming rig depends on the gpu 80% of the time, so that is more impt.

The rest are handled by the mobo, and B85 does the job. It can already cover all aspects of a basic gaming rig le.

Turns out that it's the OS that's causing the problem. But I have totally no idea why, it seems that MSI components are not liking Win 8.1 at the moment. Once installed back Win 7, boot problems and BSODs were just gone. May try to upgrade from Win 7 back to Win 8.1 to try.

windows 8.1 too new gua...i stay at windows 8 running msi h87 no problem

But board also put 8.1 ready. Cause dump files keep having the error related to the Killer LAN network so it's probably some conflict. Chua sai when I keep troubleshooting hardware.
