Can anyone else with FreedomVPN do a quick test for me??
Can you see if this website works?

HBO GO

I haven't been able to access it for 3 days now.
Either on the web, iPad, appleTV or iPhone..

Worked perfectly before that.

Have been trying to work it out with Tech Support but no luck so far..

All other US sites under Freedom VPN are working ok.. i.e.: Netflix, Hulu etc etc

Thanks for testing..
You have Freedom VPN as well right?

The HBO GO site is working fine (if accessed via VPN) so the problem should be related to VQ.

Yep.. Just did the same test. Working 100% fine with a VPN.
As soon as I turn off the VPN and go back to ViewQwest, it doesn't work.
It used to work until 3 days ago.

Anyone from ViewQwest shed any light??

Yup, freedom VPN. Seems like freedom VPN had quite a bit of issue of late. :s8:

When will all 200mbps plan users be upgraded to 300?

I signed up for an upgrade from 200Mbps (non-contract) to 300Mbps (2 yrs contract) and they're still not able to do the upgrade for me ...

What do you think is the likelihood that they'll offer it free to 200Mbps customers ? :s13:

Ah, SingTel has a point of presence in London which explains it.

I don't think the other ISPs have a PoP there so… well a bunch of users have asked for a Europe PoP so I hope we get that someday.

Hehehehe... An EU PoP does not necessary have to be in London. ;)
Choose wisely...

Well that or AMSIX, there aren't many quality PoPs, though of course many patch into AMSIX from outside AMSIX via cheap local L2 but that's probably too much jargon for a HWZ post :)

Have you contacted NOC? Would be best to contact NOC so they'll open a ticket and keep you updated.

Yes.. Spoke to them 4 times today.

They first tried to tell me HBO GO must be down.. Wasn't the case at all.
1) I have friends in the US who confirmed it was up and running
2) By switching on a VPN it comes up instantly..

They then updated my firmware on the Zhone.. That didn't help.

Was told they'd look into it further and call me back in 20 mins.. That was 5 hours ago now..

They are yet to acknowledge the problem is even on their end.. Which it clearly is..

I hope its sorted out asap.

Please try again, some changes were made by the VPN team and the site is loading here, but I don't have an account to actually test videos with.

Thanks!

Anyone upgraded to the 1Gbps plans? Is the pricing finally sweet enough to take the plunge?

:)

For the moment, VQ seemed to be the cheapest ISP in the town as Starhub / M1 cost $395 / $399 per month for 1Gbps plan without the static IP. Singtel lagi worse, no 1Gbps plan.... Lolz!

What equipment are you using on your home network?

What NIC does your computer have?

Switches, etc.? I noticed that the smallest of details make the difference between 700M~ and 900+Mbps.

Case in point, enabling cable-length-detect power saving on my switch drops from 970Mbps to around 800Mbps (this can't even be turned off on some switches and NICs).

I’m using Intel server-grade NICs all around :)
