Guys... Reporting live from Medan... Just walked into a SEIKO AD at Sun Plaza.

Seiko watches here are 30-60% cheaper than Singapore.
The premier series in Singapore goes for 800-1400.
Over here in medan... It goes for 350-800

Cheaper than PI?? Wah make me gian to get the seiko diver if less than 200!

next time do a group purchase if you don't mind? I used to go to Japan to help the Alfa romeo owners' club ppl get some aftermarket parts.

I get to satisfy my the shopaholic in me and the guys get what they want :) oh and I earn credit card points too :) win-win situation.

Yatto... Yeah business trip. I will be traveling to Medan around end April again.
This time round unprepared bros >.< didnt expect Seiko to be this low over here...

Let me know which are the models you guys wan me to do price-check....
Tmr I help you check the pricing. In rupiah and SG converted. These few weeks rupiah will go down further due to upcoming election in April.
Since Medan city has nothing much after 5pm
I will try to explore around the mall and see got other brands or not like TISSOT, G shock etc...
Will do "live" field report :)

Have been thinking of getting a quartz perpetual calendar with moon phase! (No $$$ for the automatics)

The size of that SEIKO AD is quite big. Almost 3times the size of the VIVO AD. But I never see any high-beat and GS on display. Maybe keep behind counter and only show to genuine buyers behind a glass counter.

I try to take some pics tomorrow evening and post here

According to the SA... arbutus uses ETA

Singapore Service Center under Crystal Time. 2years warranty by Arbutus.
Hmm think the SA pulled a fast one..am certain it's a non Swiss movement they will plaster swiss movt on the dial or case back. Anyway nothing wrong with Chinese movement as long as it is cased properly and with 2 year warrant nothing much to worry about.

ETA movement with complications not likely to cost less than 1k...

True. Been doing some reading about Chinese movements and it's quite reliable tbh. Just that Swiss and jap movements have been around much longer plus alot of watches are using them so it's not doing any justice to Chinese movements.

Anyway... This Morning I saw a TAG aqua racer going for about 1800 at T2 transit DFS. Didn't note the model number as I was in a rush to catch my flight...
Could it be quartz? Just wanna clarify my doubt

Full gold watch wear with what attire? Very hard to match leh unless prepared to have the watch covered under shirt cuff most of the time.

actually it's okay one, it's how you pull it off. with polo and berms also can (provided it's a sports watch like the full gold GMT). what's MOST important is how your skin tone blends in with it.

Not prepared or eligible to be elevated to gold watch status cos even though I uncle, is not rich uncle... maybe my turn will come soon when I would want a gold watch but not now.

Paladium - unless u want to wear for fun only, better to save up and buy nice brand and solid-solid type of gold watch.

If I get gold watch will be strictly for dress watch with leather strap.

Haha, it's going to be mostly casual setting with berms/polos/shirts for me. Actually i've seen quite a number of younger guys in raffles with full gold watch in office wear.

Unfortunately I think I will never buy a high end full gold watch, cause with that amount needed I can probably go for another stainless steel model with a little top up.

Eg, instead of paying for a full gold GMT iic, I will instead use that cash and top up and get the ss daytona. :D

but problem with non-solid gold watches is that they tend to fade over time, be it electroplated, pvd, etc...

Yeah that's a potential issue but since it is a fun watch, chances are I'll probably sell it way before that happens. :s13:

I've been having the gold watch itch ever since I got my gf a rose gold one. I need to scratch that itch at least once.

Don't mention it... The low pricing also make me itching to hoot the Premier Kinetic perpetual... Seiko say the calendar is accurate up to 2099 *crazy*
