Hi guys! Just discovered this thread here while looking for earphone recommendations. I'm a newbie with audiophile terms and abbreviations so please bear with me here.

I'm looking to get a new set of in-ears mainly for portable usage(IPhone 5s, sometimes at LAN shops). It's mostly for music(mp3 files) and computer games.

I'd prefer noise cancelling earphones that are comfortable with decent audio quality. I'm hoping to get recommendations for some in-ears that are known to be good bang for buck, my budget is about $100SGD.

Any help would be much appreciated!

see your budget no limit but not necessarily must be high end right?

can go try the hd598. more fun sig than hd650. cheaper.

or some of the ATHs... like ad900x or ad2000x

or beyer dt880... semi open though. but imo it sounds better than the open back dt990 sibling.

of course, the cheaper the better i tried the ad900x, liked it more than the k702. no love for the beyers, though.

I've recently found out about the sony sa1/3/5k series. Anywhere I can demo these? (hopefully)

The sound will be slightly different due to the connectivity different. Most actually find that the wired version is louder sometimes.

Maybe you would like to consider the Audio Technica IM03, Shure SE425 and Westone UM PRO 20. Personally tried the SE425 and Pro 20, find that they are a little similar to the FA, not sure if you'll find it that way, perhaps you can drop by and give it a try at our outlets.

If you mum likes to listen to vocal or instrumental music, would recommend the Fischer Audio Bullet 6mm. If she find that this has too much treble, you can let her try the Fischer Audio Consonance which should have a stronger bass response as compared to the Bullet.

You can consider the Fischer Audio Consonance also which was mentioned above. For comparison, you can compare it with the JVC FX3X and the Audio Technica CKS55X to find out what would be your sound preference.

Are you referring to the Momentum On-ear? If yes, personally find that its bass is not as boomy as the M80. Might be due to the tuning and the material of the earpads. Personally will prefer the Momentum On-ear over the M80.

ic......so which means the momentum on-ear would be a better choice for vocal music? I am a person who tends to enjoy treble over bass as i wan clarity more....

P/S i just notice theres 2 variations of momentum.....whats the difference?

Yes, the higher priced one is the full size Momentum. They are circum-aural and the pads and headband are of leather material. The other one are the Momentum On-ear, similar size to the V-Moda M80. The pads and headband are of alcantara material.
