Irresponsible service commitment by Myrepublic.

Just want to share will all here about the experienced I had with Myrepublic regarding the 1GB installation appointment. My republic have scheduled an appointment for installation on 31 March 2014 between 2PM-6Pm. I called on 27 March to see whether can I change the appointment date because I have a work commitment but were told that its not possible because most scheduled are fully booked. I then have to make some changes to my scheduled to ensure I am at home when My republic installer come and also have to take a day leave. I did not even dare to leave my house as I am worried they will come earlier, but guess what I receive a call less than 30 minutes before 2PM by the installer to advise they cant come today and push it to opennet. I then called Myrepublic customer service and spoke to Getz and demanded for management to call me back to explain this unacceptable situation within the day. 3 hours later still no call from Myrepublic so I called again and spoke to Rachel and demanded again for someone to call me back to explain and provide a solution. She say she will escalate again but up till now no update and service recovery call from Myrepublic yet.

Few points below which I think reflect badly on Myrepublic.

I worked in Customer service too and I think think this service is bad and worse still there isnt any form of any service recovery. Its unacceptable to advice that Opennet cant make it as I am sure all preparation work should be ready and remember Greg the Vice President said that the Testing is only for a week and I think it has already way past that.I took a whole day leave just to wait for Myrepublic which is a cost to me only to be advised 30minutes before the installation time. I dont mind the change of date but at least I should be notified at least few days before that. Myrepublic please remember my time is not reserved for you only. I am going to terminate my service and also write in to whatever social media and also feedback channel in newspaper to explain what happen as I would like to have the whole of Singapore know what kind of service I get despite being one of the pioneer customer of Myrepublic.

Hi Louis, I was in the same boat but I didn't even get any call or communication that OpenNet wasn't going to show, until I called MR after the scheduled time. Lucky I asked my retired mother-in-law to stay home (think she had to delay lunch until after 1pm) and didn't have to apply for personal leave.

Unfortunate that you had to suffer this indignity, and I too think that MR really needs to work on their PR.

Hi folks,

Just wanna check. Just had my 1 Gbps activated yesterday and I'm keep having "Server Time Out"when trying to access qoo10.sg.

Anyone has the same issue? General surfing is fine although ul/dl is at about 40/20. Am using wifi and 2.4 ghz.

Edit:

Add PayPal to the list of site that I can't access.

I just have my myrepublic setup! Direct cable to ont yield 800+Mbps, quite happy. But plugging in to asus ac66u router, the speed is cap at 200+Mbps.

I just figure out it is because of the hardware acceleration was disable due to qos i setup. Did a factory reset, everything work fine. Can get 760+Mbps through ac66u. Hope this info can help some of the ppl who get cap at 200mbps. Thanks!

it seems there are some sites which MR 1Gbps have trouble access routing to... Their engineers really need to look at their routing paths

Same here. i had email confirmation. i had phone confirmation. i even called them yesterday early afternoon to confirm today's appointment. at 6pm yesterday, they called to cancel. no further date was given.

on top of that, china websites are still an issue. comparatively, it was much smoother when i tried from my bil's place which is on starhub. i jumped from starhub for many reasons. and it seems as though MR is slowly trying to outdo starhub.

Email them, no reply. Call them, nobody pick up. at this juncture, i'd say the CS is worse off than starhub.

very disappointing.

If MR do not start to realign their Customer Service Standards and their PR work this will not boil down well.

I have also truly wondered if their hotline is that busy, there was a night I called at 1am to their 24/7 technical hotline and I waited 30mins on the phone before it said "busy and hung up on me"... that was 1am.. and knowing how the CSOs are always quick to end a conversation with "I am not too sure/I don't know, I will get someone to call you back" which will never happen, I can only wonder why are there no one to pick up the phone.

The backend route for MR and NC network is the same. Thus, there's no possible reason why website such as Paypal and Qoo10 is not working. Kindly send me a screenshot via email with your customer ID as your title and i will forward them to the team to do some check. And kindly test using WIRED connection to ONT.

I am having minor issues with Paypal as well for some reason. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't.

Hi Zeemax,

You can check your QOS status at "Traffic Manager > QoS" which should be off.
I did a factory reset by going here "Administration > Restore/Save/Upload Setting" then click "Restore" at "Factory default".
After some wait it should bring you the Internet Setup Wizard like you receive a new router.
Please note by doing that you will lost all the setting in the router.
Hope this help.

It seems from the posts about MR Upload "hanged" problem is due to Android OS. (also my Samsung Smart TV).

I am on MR black Alcatel ONT without MR voice & AC68U.

However I tried Android machines on M1 fibre all is fine. Strange?

Some sites like Qoo10, MR has this "Request Time out" when trying to upload datas from it such as checking "Recent Orders" on Qoo10 but again when using M1 fibre, all is fine.

U hard code your DNS? I believe that would be an error somewhere... as there should not be happening.

I know cos I run 24/7 API interface to my RAPI EPP SRS here.
