Hi, I am looking for a set of earphones with mic for use on my notes 2 and macbook.

Something like the iphone 4's earphones, but with deeper bass or wider sound range. I don't like the newer types of earphones with intruding ear buds though.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ops i just realised that i replied to the wrong post...

i've tried a few single armature drivers ones and they all lacked heavily in bass response. the mids and highs are very good and the bass is clear, but not strong enough.

how does the jvc woody series hold up against dual armature ones? e.g. shure 425, westone 2, ue700, brainwavz b2?

when will the woody series come in?

We have the JVC woody series FX650 and FX750 for demo in our store in Plaza Singapura, in my opinion both models have a warmer sound signature with good amount of bass.

To my ears the other dual BA models you have mentioned is slightly light on the bass compared to the JVC woodies. The Westone 2 has been replaced by the Westone W20 and we have them for demo, as well as the Shure SE425.

Woody Series are expected to arrive mid May.

You can consider the Fischer Audio Consonance V.2 and the JVC FX-T90 for the type of genre you're listening into. If you like warmer sound you can consider the Consonance V2, I find that it has fuller bass compared to the latter, however, FX-T90 has more controlled bass and more transparent which is great for vocals too! The latter model also has a special price promotion of $168 (usual $209) and Consonance V.2 has 10% off, fyi.

Hi LeonaV! The ones that we have for non-in ear with mic is the Marshall Minor. Have you tried them yet? I find it comfortable to use and cables doesn't tangle easily. For this month it also has a 10% discount promotion. Feel free to drop by and try the demo in our store!

Hi! Based on what you are looking for, you can consider the Sennheiser HD600, Sennheiser HD650 and the Audio Technica AD1000X. You can consider pairing them with iFi Audio iCAN V2 and iFi Audio iDAC. From all those three headphones, I find that the HD650 has fuller bass and all of them are comfortable to use, not too heavy so it's not fatiguing after listening for some time. We have the demo sets in both of our outlets, maybe you can try them together and see which is the better pair for you.

I juz auditioned the xba h1, h3 and shure se425.. but i dun think they are what im looking for... XBA h1 the high or vocal sounds distant to me especially when all the instruments starts to come in... xbah3 was very uncomfortable and i couldnt get a good seal, but my impression is that it is slightly better than h1.. SE425 was good, but the highs and mids i think is not what im looking for? Hope to get something with forward vocals and clear high?

IM03 might be a good choice for you since it has good instruments' separation and tight controlled bass. You can audition them in either of our stores. And oh! Oh.. for bass, I would personally choose the Audio Technica ATH-IM50. If you want more controlled, those not boomy type, then the Fischer Audio Bullet.

Hi sfoliage! Have you heard about the new woody series models from JVC? Maybe you can consider the JVC HA-FX750 or better yet, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait for the FX850 as the demo is expected to arrive mid of this month. I find the latter more detailed in sound and more airy. It has detachable cables as well so if something goes wrong (which I doubt ), you can always look for replacement cables. The good thing is that if you make a pre-order with any of these two models, you will get a 20% discount. Do consider to visit us and try the demo.

1) The AT-HDC1 comes equipped with the IEM.

2) We have yet to test the cable in our store as the stock hasn't arrived at the moment but according to the information from Audio Technica, the more expensive AT-HDC5 @$98 has better conductor for better signal transmission and other construction improvement over the AT-HDC1 @ $38.

3) Unlike the MMCX connectors, the 2 pinned connectors Audio Technica IM series uses doesn't rotate. In fact it has a snap lock design to prevent the cable from loosening, however like most detachable cable connector....repeated remove and installing the cable a lot of times might potentially loosen the connectors.

4) in my opinion the IM series cables are quite resilient, even if the cable tangles it's easy to untangle, using the right method to store the IEM in a suitable case or pouch will also greatly reduce the chances of the cables tangling.

Thanks for your recommendation, in the end i tried im02 and im03.. like im03 very much, but the price almost 2 times more than im03.. considering whether should i get im02 first and upgrade later or just get im03 immediately~

Suits your genre right.. Glad to know you liked it. If I'm in your shoes, I'll just save more first then straightly hoot the IM03, anyway it's what I really like in the end that matters.
