why would you want to take a train to JB Sentral when there is no charges from custom to CIQ by bus? If you travel by bus, the ride is suspended. avoid the jam? I think car jam is more serious than bus jam.

Check the fare for the leg from Sentral to Woodlands. Will you complain too?
KTM operates on its own tracks. Which MP are you going to complain to?

Most of those who take the train to JB CEntral are those who continue their Journey from JB Central by train to other part of Malaysia.

KTMB charge the same numeric number for different currency for same length of journey.

So if Train from Journey from say Wakag Baru to Woodlands is RM57, the return journey if buy at Wakaf Baru is also RM57. Buy that ticket at woodland to Wakaf Baru .. it is SGD57.

So if you buy it at JB -- from JB Central to Wakaf Baru it is likely to be RM56 ..

To discourage people from buy ticket at JB and board train at Woodland, KTMB imposre such charges for fare as indicated above.

EWould then be a likely senarior that the express train to KL be charge in the same manner .. say RM100 from KL to SIN, and SGD100 from SIN to KL? and may be RM9 from JB to KL?

I believe the train fare from JB Central to Wopodland likely to be only RM1.

Eh...why would anyone want to take a train from Woodlands to JB Sentral, if not planning to go beyond that? :s11:

Exactly! Take for fun! :s13:

I understand that there are many people who's not gone on a train before - not talking about our "reliable" MRT ones - and taking it to/from Tanjang Pagar and JB Sentral for the experience/fun, that I understand. =:p

But to take from Woodlands to/from JB Sentral... that thought DID cross my mind, but but but... I'm wondering if we'll be able to sit down, or warm the seat, before we've to get off!:s22::D

For fun? Waste of time, why not take from Woodland and to Denga City Mall which has a KTM stop right at level 5 of the mall? That way, you can even shop a little in JB. Of all thing, JB Sentral? strange thing to do while you can just get it free on bus with ezlink card. Try something more interesting and enjoy the ride rather than such a short ride. Can't even warm the seat

Many who take that ride are taking onward train to other part of Malaysia.

Taking the train would avoid the causeway jam that is if you are there when there is a train to JB.

KTM stop at Level 5 of Danga Mall??? That's a thought! :s12:

Remember my first JB shopping trip was via a train ride from the Tanjong Pagar Station to a stop that's behind Holiday Plaza. :D

Seow, charge so high. More expensive than taking taxi.

I think they discourage us from taking from woodlands as they afraid it will affect the availability from those taking for woodlands to elsewhere.

Actually take train longer than take bus de. I tried before from Johor to Tanjong Pagar last time when i was young as i have never taken train before. Wow piang, i waited almost half an hour in the train then they start the train then hor they travel so slow and will stop halfway for a while.

I won't be surprised if it's to discourage joy rides from SIN-JB. Imagine if you're a passenger wanting to go to, say Ipoh, in the train and the tickets are all sold out, then realizing that the train has become half-empty from JB.

Want to do joy ride, wake up earlier and take the $3 one! :s13:

It is to discourage people from buying ticket from JB to elsewhere in Malaysian, then travel from Woodland to continue the journey.

Train fare in JB is much check than from woodland. They charge the same number, in local currency. (so instead of paying S$30, you pay RM30 for example ..

So most travel to malaysia actually buy online a third class ticket from the town they want to go to, then buy a "returned" ticket from Singapore. All these would then be in RM.

I am highlighting thisis that, the future EXPRESS train likely to be charged the same way ..

If the train fare from KL to SIN is at RM100. Don't expect to pay S$40 from SIN to KL. It is likely to be S$100.
